| Posted By: GirlUWant Posted On: Sep 10, 2005 Views: 606 | RE: hurriane is racist BTW - my rich cousin and her husband lost a very expensive boat and a very expensive condo in the disaster...his parents lost their very expensive house and all their very expensive stuff inside of it...stuff they worked very hard for, by educating themselves and putting in long hours, owning businesses that paid nice salaries to other people, etc...yes, they didn't lose EVERYTHING, but they lost a lot, and will also have to kind of start over, but will get to start over on a different "playing field" than the poor people, black or white, but they too, lost pictures of their kids, those kinds of things that you can't replace. I hope that this gives many people new opportunties. They will have the personal choice just like anyone to make the best of it, or screw it up and find themselves like they were before. That is the great thing about living in America, if you are willing to be your own best friend and make wise choices, you can have a nice life, but you have to be willing. |
