One thing I truly can't stand is waiting forever for the check. Oh, man, that ****es me off. If waiting forever for the check is coupled with sitting there waiting for someone to clear the plate, oh, man, does that **** me off. I'm like, "Hey! Yo! Over here! We're DONE over here! We've been done for twenty minutes! How about the friggin' CHECK?!" Another thing is no paper towels in the bathroom, with only a pair of those disgusting hot air hand dryers. Gross! Gross! Gross! Just what I want, a machine that sucks all the germs out of the air in the room and then blows them nice and hot onto my hands! I have often felt like lobbying the state legislature to ban those damn things. Nobody likes using them, NOBODY! I should create a website that lists every restaurant that I've ever been to that only has those stupid hand dryers so others can stay away. If enough of us vote with our feet, the restaurant owners will get the message that they need to just spring for some damn paper towels. The other thing I hate is when they do have a paper towel dispenser but it's always empty and it becomes clear by the amount of dust on the thing that they haven't filled since before Bill Clinton gave his first State of the Union Address. Vomitous! And I hate it when restaurants try to squeeze in as many people as they can into the space they have, and jam the tables and chairs so close together that I can't fit my 6'3" 234-lb frame comfortably into any of the seats. Hate that! And what's with the no paper napkins, or just giving you one single paper napkin? I like to have a dispenser full of napkins, or even have them loose in a pile on the table, but some places give you one single napkin and when you ask for another one, or a couple more napkins, they look at you like you just asked them to donate their kidney to an imprisoned pedophile. Another pieve... what's with the fake, artificial coffee creamer? I don't mind being given a choice between real dairy half-and-half and some flavored "International" crap, but when the only option for creaming the coffee is dumping this nasty little white liquid chemical into it, I scratch my head and wonder why the hell I'm giving this place my money. Sure, the nasty white chemical crap lasts friggin' forever, and I'm sure it saves the restaurant ten or twelve bucks a week in creamer that they don't have to throw out, but can't you just add ten cents to the price of my breakfast special and give some real damn cream to put in my coffee? I mean, that chemical stuff tastes like ASS! It takes perfectly good coffee and makes it taste like TOXIC SLUDGE. I'm sure that if I sat here and thought about it, I could come up with many other examples of things that really **** me off in restaurants, but now it's someone else's turn. |

If they stop me on the way out I tell them I assumed that it was free since nobody bothered to come to the table. The manager normaly rings me up and takes some off the top. I don't make a big fuss. I have to do my job at work, (well, did) and in something like a restaurant I expect others to do theirs. Now this changes if their shorthanded or really busy. Then I wait 30 min and try to get their attention. |

Most places won't let you split up the bill, so then you're all left trying to figure out who owes how much, and if most of you are paying with credit cards, it turns into a huge ordeal. Worse yet, sometimes they end up splitting the whole check evenly between everyone, even if some people ordered tons of appetizers or drinks or whatever and other just ordered a salad and water. That always ****es me off! |
