Both song and video

Running through the options, I realized I would like an option for both outstanding video and song pair. (My election hard to decide between Heart and DKWYWBICGIA)
And to counterpart, maybe also for bad song/video.
Anyway, I liked a lot this pool, thank you Wayne

RE: Both song and video

I found that I couldn't honestly vote in this poll as I find every one of these songs to be outstanding. While some of the videos may run contra to my relationship to the song, the videos are all outstanding too! Video narratives can limit a song to one interpretation. Simply listening to an individual song can have a different meaning or provoke a different emotion each and every time you hear it. I love the PSB's! Mmmmm, now that I think of it, I would find it difficult to live without the the songs, but if I never saw the videos again, I think I could survive! :)

RE: Both song and video

Hopefully no one died because of anything related to what you said. Would be interesting what deadly details we uncover in the songs and videos. Or just the simple question of existence that keep us running. Because we can talk about it.

RE: Both song and video

Adding to my last comment:
I never get the feeling that the Pet Shop Boys are doing a "promotional" video to please their record label. Their videos are mostly pop art pieces that stand on their own in addition to the music & lyrics of the song.

I am so looking forward to receiving Neil's "One Hundred Lyrics And A Poem" book. While one can easily read the words to their songs on the PSB website or sing along at a concert or while listening with headphones, the bound printed book will add a new dimension(s) to the brilliance of my favorite artists. I want to hold it in my hands and proudly read it on the NYC subway, at the gym and at home.

Back to the videos:
I went to a Bjork show at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in NYC. In a very dark room there was a two hour loop of her videos. There were imaginative seating for people to lounge and watch as many videos as you'd like. The black-out nature of the fairly large room made the videos grab your attention and to appreciate the artistry. The PSB videos would make for a similarly powerful installation! Additional rooms could include the clothes they wear on stage! I'd love it!!!
