Citizen Kane

Does anyone besides film students have to watch this more than once? Or, more to the point, do so? I can't imagine why one would, but that's not my problem.
9 times in a week totally turned me off to it forever.

RE: Citizen Kane

I liked this movie, but only because it had been pointed out why I should like it. People talked about how it was before it's time and made great strides in the way movies were filmed. And for that, I can appreciate it, like it even. For it's content, eh. It was okay, but more for movie fanatics. It made me feel like there was a deeper message to it that I would never get. Childhood = bliss, blah blah blah... but was there really something deeper?

PS: I'd heard that this was loosely a mockery of William Randolf Hurst, and how his money could never buy him the happiness of his childhood. How his millions would buy him nothing but material items. Anyone that's ever seen Hurst Castle can attest to the fact that he never stopped trying to buy happiness! LOL!!

I think he had a long-running grudge with Orson Wells (who BTW purchased a restaurant down the road from Hurst called Nepenthe that he gave to his bride Rita Hayworth).

Just misc. fact crap. Doubt anyone cares.

RE: Citizen Kane

what a load of crap. you write that stuff because you think people really read it and follow your lead. As if anyone will ever say 'hmmm... adam doesn't like black and white movies so I also think they suck'

i care about you?!? yea right. lets just say if you were a kitten i would care about you enough to put you in a burlap bag and chuck it into a river.

RE: Citizen Kane

There is nothing funny about deadbeats. They are fun to watch on TV when they are Beavis and Butthead but I don't want them around me otherwise.
