Party Standars and Image

Another poster showed great wisdom in suggesting that we do not participate in this forum any longer, and in doing so Mr. Meadows is left alone with his hate campaign. I believe that after the last several days of attacking the very people that have protected this country, the use of profanity, and just the very nature of his posting, another suggestion is warranted. Mr. Meadows is a part of the Overton County Democratic Party. Please find phone numbers, addresses, and email addresses for State and County Democratic Heads of Office. Please copy Mr. Meadows' posts and send them to these people, make phone calls, or write letters to bring his behavior to their attention. He is a representative of their party and this behavior reflects the party. I wonder if this is the image that they want portrayed. If contacting the Tennessee Office please be sure and include that he is a representative of the County Office.

Who supports the Troops? Lynn

Who supports the Troops?

GREAT WEBSITE Brawny!! http://www.awolbush.com LOTS of good info here
on our TRAITOR IN CHIEF!!

Between tax cuts for the rich, war profits for Halliburton, or
support for our troops - which does the Bush Administration choose,
time and time again?

Bush Administration cuts $1.5 billion from military family housing.
The Bush Administration cut $1.5 billion for military family housing,
despite Department of Defense statistics showing that in 83,000
barracks and 128,860 family housing units across the country are
below standard. ("Nothing But Lip Service," Army Times, June 30,
2003; "House Appropriations Committee Approves $59.2 Million for Ft.
Hood," U.S. Rep. Chet Edwards Press Release, June 17, 2003)

Bush Republicans support millionaires instead of military veterans.
Bush allies in Congress stopped efforts to scale back the tax cut for
the nation's millionaires by just five percent - a loss of just
$4,780 for the year - in order to restore this funding for military
family housing. ("The Tax Debate Nobody Hears About," Washington
Post, June 17, 2003)

Bush Administration underfunded veterans' health care by $2 billion.
The Bush Administration's 2004 budget underfunded veterans' health
care by nearly $2 billion. ("Vets Health Low on Bush's Priority
List," The Hill, September 17, 2003; "Support for Troops Questioned,"
Washington Post, June 17, 2003; U.S. Department of Veterans' Affairs,
September 2002)

Bush Administration proposal would end health care benefits for
173,000 veterans. More than 173,000 veterans across the country would
be cut off from health care because of Bush Administration proposed
budget cuts and its plan requiring enrollment fees and higher out-of-
pocket costs. ("Support for Troops Questioned," Washington Post, June
17, 2003)

Bush Administration budget cuts force more than 200,000 veterans to
wait for health care. Over 200,000 United States veterans have to
wait more than six months for a medical visit because of health care
shortages. ("VA Health Care Funding Alert," Veterans of Foreign Wars
of the United States Press Release, January 31, 2003)

Bush Administration opposed plan to give National Guard and Reserve
Members access to health insurance. Despite the war efforts of
America's National Guard and Reserve Members, the Bush Administration
announced in October 2003 its formal opposition to give the 1.2
million Guard and Reserve members the right to buy health care
coverage through the Pentagon's health plan. One out of every five
Guard members lacks health insurance. ("Bush Opposes Health Plan for
National Guard," Gannett News Service, October 23, 2003)

Bush Administration cuts $172 million allotted for educating the
children of military personnel. The Bush Administration's 2004 budget
cut $172 million of impact aid funding. Impact aid funding assists
school districts by making up for lost local tax revenue from tax-
exempt property, such as military bases. These education cuts will
especially affect school-age children of troops serving in Iraq who
reside on military bases. ("Support for Troops Questioned,"
Washington Post, June 17, 2003)

Bush Administration tax cut denies military families increase in
child tax credit. The families of 262,000 children of military
personnel do not receive the child tax credit increase because the
plan fails to cover taxpaying families with incomes between $10,500
and $26,625. According to The Washington Post, the House version of
the Bush Administration plan "wouldn't help many of those serving in
Iraq." One solider who will not benefit is Army Specialist Shoshana
Johnson, the soldier and single mother who was wounded twice in the
same convoy as Jessica Lynch. ("Ex-POW's Family Accuses Army of
Double Standard on Benefit," Washington Post, October 24, 2003; "The
New Senate Child Credit Legislation - What It Does and Does Not Do,"
Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, June 25, 2003; "Whose Child
Is Left Behind," Children's Defense Fund, July 23, 2003)

20 million in grants

Tennessee has been awarded 20 million in grants for Homeland Security. How much of that will come to Overton County? Does any one know? Sounds good on paper but what is the bottom line? When it finally does trickle down how will our County Goverment manage it? We have been lucky in our life time but so many out there are struggling to make a living and get by. The county employee that wondered why there were no raises to help with the cost of living has a point. I have often wondered how people survive on min. wage.

polital crap

Ok. I'm tired of participating in a forum that is a platform for one person who cuts and pastes crap. It's got to the point that I just scroll down and don't read it because I've read it all before. (Amazing that I saw the same interview with the Afgan president and didn't hear anything that was posted here!) I'm tired of reading about how wonderful the Democrats are and how awful the Republicans and President Bush are. No one party or person is perfect. Both have faults and are human. BUT, this is the greatest country on the earth.

It is amazing to me that no matter what the question is, it always reverts back to politics. So for me, this is my last post here. No use of wasting my time. If everyone does this, you know who will be the only one posting with no one reading. Have a great day!!

Debby,DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME EVER

Debby, don't worry about me ever,I'm nothing to you or concern or reb or to any of you..

I don't worry about you nor do I care for you and the others.Nor do I care whatever you say or do...or with who...

You and the others are nothing to me but a fake name...hiding behind a computer screen..sorta like a GHOST...

You have a right, same as I do to express whatever you want. And that, bush is wanting to change, but now,we can...

But here is a little more about Social Security.. but you need to read between the lines,as bush speaks...

Bush] wants to phase out Social Security in favor of private investment accounts. In the latter case, there is no guarantee at all, just as there is no guarantee in private nesting, which of course is just as is should be. He wants to get rid of the defined benefit program and change it to a defined contribution program -- not partially, but totally. Indeed, he said this in his recent press conference quite clearly. But few of the reporters present latched on to the statement or its significance. Social Security, he said, is "now in a precarious position. And the question is whether or not our society has got the will necessary to adjust from a defined benefit plan to a defined contribution plan. And I believe the will will be there. (emphasis added)."
There's no 'partial' here. He's talking about phasing out one and replacing it with the other. Reporters and commentators don't seem to get that this is a category difference, though this is something that is widely understood in the pension policy community.

In a nutshell, defined benefit means a guaranteed monthly check of a guaranteed amount every month during your retirement. Defined contribution means you contribute a guaranteed amount every paycheck for an unknown monthly check during retirement. That unknown amount could be anything from zero to whatever.

This is the first step to the phaseout. Make the benefit unknown and people will get used to the idea that it might not be enough or even existent. Then cutting it eventually to zero would be possible.

Mr. Bronnie, I too am concerned about your state of being. I have read your posts and thought you to be Christian, but as of lately, I have changed my mind. I am not one quick to judge,NOR should I, but you need to watch what you type. It isn't very becoming of one who goes to Church and I am sure you don't mean to type the words,or phrases, you have. Please, choose your words wisely, you never know who is looking.

agree

Concerned Citizen, XYZ, and Who Cares...I agree with you all. Everyone in American has the choice to support their political party. There will always be indifference and conflict on issues. But no one person or party is right on every issue. Anyone who does not see Bronnie's way is stupid, to dumb to learn and etc. according to his posts. He displays such anger and hatred toward anyone that opposes anything he says whether about world views, politics, Wal-mart, whatever his hatred is pointed toward at the time. He spews such venom that he gets lost in the truth over and over. Just this week he stated that not one Republican voted for Social Security or Medicare. That is not the truth! A poster provided the truth.
For anyone that cares.....you can go to www.ssa.gov/history/tall.html for the record on the Social Security Act that was signed by President Roosevelt on August 14, 1935. The vote was as follows: 4/19/35 House Vote---Democrats Yes 284 No 15 Not Voting 20 Present 0. Republicans Yes 81 No 15 Not Voting 4 Present 2. 6/19/35 Senate Vote---Democrats Yes 60 No 1 Not Voting 8. Republicans Yes 16 No 5 Not voting 4. You can go to www.ssa.gov/history/tall65.html for the record on the Medicare Act that was signed by President Johnson On July 30, 1965. The vote was as follows: 4/7/65 House Vote---Democrats Yes 237 No 478. Senate Vote--Democrats Yes 70 No 68. 7/9/65 Senate Vote---Democrats Yes 57 No 17. Republicans Yes 13 No 17.
It is his attacks on anyone who doesn't agree with his thoughts that bothers me the most. He constantly attacks the Christians, churches/pastors, service people, heck anyone who can think, spell, or write a complete sentence. Hatred is a dangerous thing. He truly has a heart problem. I know this will only stir him again and more hatred will spew, maybe even more lies. I will not post back to his or any of his following (which is probably him). You cannot out argue total nonsense. Most only argue to get him to go further for their entertainment.
