As far as I'm concerned, the Bible is a biased and exaggerated biography of a supposed great man, a latter day working class hero? Fine, no problem. However, again, opinion: the church has turned thisidea of God into a tool with which to instill fear into the masses. Ask the victims of inquisition if there is a god, ask the victims of catholic child abuse if there is a god, ask the millions of hitler victims if there is a god. We are animals, biological beings with a journey towards death, bones and dust. Nothing more. While we are here, we can be good or bad people.If folks rely on a god ( sorry, the church!) to tell them whether they are good or bad then it seems to me that they have no idea about what is good or bad in the first place. Many people are caring, warm, honest and virtuous because they want to be, not because they have had the fear of 'God' put into them by a manipulative church of whatever religion. |

Question: What is the REAL likelihood of humanity fixing all it's pathetic problems and of it becoming a space faring civilisation...permanently! Or...more appropriately...what is the chance of the human race surviving another 3.21 billion years...with our short existence! Can you PHYSICALLY understand 3.21 bil yrs! And don't use god as an excuse! 3.21 billion years is roughly 1600 times to period of evolution (to present) of the human race! But is probably closer to 2000! The dinosuars weren't except from the possibility of being wiped out, so what right do we have to think we are! And because life can't have existed for any longer than about 3.2 bil on earth, what gives us the right to think we are special! We are no different from a micro-organism! Dinsoaurs life time: may be 65 mil yrs Humanities life time: may be 3 mil yrs (so far) We are more vulnerable than we would want to think! A civilisation of our kind that lasts millions of years would learn to change its attitude, because it would have to! Last note: In order to gain the ability to achieve permanent space faring, a civilisation would have to know how to reach and maintain zero population growth...when their pervious world begins to become uninhabitable! For all we know, we are an experiment, and are being manipulated! |

The less complex your understanding, the more willing to accept! The harder it is the get a simple irrevocable conclusion! The more the ability to see things from different perspectives...the easier it is to fill the void! The more unconvertional/weird the idea (about reality), the more interesting and exciting it becomes (within reason)! Hence the RESULT! |

Sorry, but I have to show you this -> (It would be so great -- so reassuring, so comforting, so peaceful -- to know that there's Someone out there who's in control of a world that seems so out of control). This is an example of why " " doesn't exist! It's the mind-set I'm referring to. The mind set is that of refusing the accept the possiblity that there may to be...without being specific! I am not attacking, but rather demostrating. I me, a void is acceptable, why, because i'm not willing to co-operte with my basic need to "fill" the gap...by that i mean i fill the "gap" with a "physical" explanation. That explanation replaces my psychological "urge" to want to fill it! In other words, I replace the object with the reason! That challenge alone is exciting, because if you put all the explanations together, you get a conclusion! I also, in part, see the "urge" as something we WANT to replace...what we "cannot" explain or understanding. Now, what I have just showed you is the "tip" of the ice berg! And to me, the simple knowledge that there is something left to explore or try to understand is a comfort in itself, because you literally cannot "know" everything, which is also comforting, because I wouldn't want to...would you!? Lastly, the fact that everything cannot be know implies to me that the universe is VERY orderly! If you cannot see that...think about why you can't!...and an excuse is the worst reason why...because it doesn't help you...it distracts you...you (may) allow it to do so! Which again...isn't worth it! |

What are you going to get if you place your faith in Him? Everything! What if you don't? Nothing, and your life will hold no joy. Take it from me, there is a God. I've felt Him and if you ever feel alone, He is always there to comfort you. |
