Although I agree that the fox population does need to be regulated, I don't think that fox hunting is the most humane way of achieving such a goal. Foxes suffer unncessarily, and the stress and fright they experience does not justify their killing. Surely there must be more modern methods, which are as bloodthirsty, and don't require such barbarism? |

I feel that many people who are opposed to hunting, only want to ban it because of the class issue. Many people believe that hunting only involves wealthy country land owners, and this simply isn't the case. Lots of working class people enjoy hunting, and not because they want to see the kill, but because they know they are doing their bit to help the countryside in many respects. Hunting should not be put to a national public vote simply because it doesn't concern town folk. The majority of town dwellers have an image of a poor fluffy fox being torn apart. This is inaccurate. Most foxes get away unharmed. These people don't think of the poor little lambs or chickens being ripped apart or the farmer who's livelihood is under threat. |
