The SAE figures are taken from an engine WITHOUT mufflers,aircleaner, alternator, waterpump and usually with the timing wound up to the point of detonation.SAE Gross is an idealisied figure,thats why the Japs stuck to it well into the 1980's. DIN is a much more realistic figure. For the record I've owned 3 HQ's. Current drive is a Premier wagon with factory air and a 350 chev ( not factory) As a lover of the HQ I'd like you to set the record straight. The HQ can stand on it's record,without exegeration. |
