favourite single

Albeit blockbuster is the single always associated with the sweet - and when i heard it i was hooked on their music, it did not take me long to back track from there only about 5 years of material before that date, for me the ultimate sweet single has got to be the six teens. I have never got board of playing this

Love is Like Oxygen

I really liked Sweet from the first time I heard "Little Willie", "Fox on The Run", and "Ballroom Blitz", but "Love Is Like Oxygen" made me stop and pay attention to this band. I wish our local music stores would stock other items than just their greatest hits collections.

Best Single

In the late 70's, I would have chosen "Action" as the best song ever (of the 5 songs I knew by the band). By the early 90's, when I got my first Sweet tape (feel bad I was so late in catching on to their music) -I maybe would have picked Wig Wam Bam, The 6 Teens, or The lies in your eyes. They were all new songs to me.
Today, after viewing the DVD's that are currently out - I like "Turn it Down" and "Fountain".
The band gives a great performance of "Turn it down" on a 70's DVD titled "Get it on" which features several 70's artists. God! They look so cute in that video!

singles

I chose Oxygen because it's probably my favorite single but my favorite Sweet songs were never singles.(Laura Lee,Midnight to Daylight,Funk it Up,Lady Starlight,All Andy songs)Most of the albums I grew up with (American releases) had better songs than the singles. Also I notice the american releases are much different than the Brits. As the Beatles were and so on. Money Money Money
I hope somebody reads this because I love this band and can't understand how they were so under-rated and in a class with Queen,Yes,ELO, and were and are GREAT musicians. I know! I am a musician!I was so struck down when I heard about Brian;then Mick.We can be thankful that we have all that great music. Condolences to the families and friends of Brian and Mick.

Favourite Single

Actually my favourite single was not on the list but was a b-side --- "Burn on the Flame."

The song was also successfully covered by the Swedish Band "Modest Attraction" on their 1996 album "Divine Luxury."

I was really happy to get the extended version of "Desolotion Boulevard" so I could finally add my favourite to the collection.

Lost Angels

My favourite single is Lost Angels. I can't remember how well it charted in Australia. Unfortunately, I have never heard this song played live (I've only been to 7 Sweet gigs in 30 years).

Sweet Single

I was 8 years old when "Fox on the Run" came out and it was one of the first 45s I ever bought! I also love "Love is like Oxygen" and it's a very close 2nd in ranking their songs.

sweet singles

It´s really difficult to show which one of those unforgettable songs would be number one, but OK, ti´s The Six-teens and soon after that it´s Action/Fox on The Run. I hope there are some other fans who agree with me.

Best Song Ever

It's so hard to choose, but I think that I'll go for a B-side song called Rebel Rouser.

Blitz is King

No other song catches the feeling of the time. Ballroom Blitz is the Glam Anthem of the 70's..(period)..........!
