the sweet as a group

i don't think anyone can get the same sound as the orional sweet. they had a sound that just thrilled you to the core. they were masters of their craft and noone can copy that no matter how they try.

Level Headed

Sweet were well and truly underated as album artists. There were two sweet bands, one for albums & one for the "bubblegum" singles. Level headed to me was the best (only just) in front of Sweet FA & Desolation. This album showed how much they had progressed through the Glam days and became (dare I say) a little bit serious. I just feel that they could never shake of that Glam tag no matter what they did.

Albums

Now this isn't fair because a lot of the songs on the UK releases differ from the US releases so I have to go with Off the Record. But I could easily be talked into Desolation Boulovard,Give us a Wink, or Level Headed. The Off the Record and Level Headed cover art should have won awards.(if they didn't)So witty.

Sweet Fanny Adams

This was a tough choice as it depends on my mood. I have not heard "A" nor "Sweetlife" yet.

I'm in my car a lot and the best CD for driving is SFA.

'A'

Where's the hell is everybody? Submit your comments, lemme hear you! My favorite Sweet album is Desolation Boulevard [American issue] but Andy Scott's Sweet is a real masterpiece of hard-rock.
That's incredible.

The Sweet

I was 9 years old the first time I saw The Sweet on T.O.T.P. playing Blockbuster. That was it for me, they had it all. Blonde silver clad singer, rock god guitarist, over the top bassist with more make up than Max Factor. For me though, the crowning glory was the drummer. Sat behind a huge silver kit spinning his sticks with great aplomb. I knew then that I was going to be a drummer too. I practiced spinning my sticks till I perfected it, saved up for the silver kit and away I went. That was 31 years ago now, I never got to thank Mick personally, but he will allways hold a place in my heart. Thank you Mick Tucker from the bottom of my heart for opening up the world of drumming to me. Anyone new to The Sweet or drums can certainly do a lot worse than listen to Sweet Fanny Adams. Probably The Sweets most complete album, certainly their heaviest, where Micks powerhouse style was at it`s most evident.

best album

I would say the best album Sweet ever made is Sweet Fanny Adams, it sounds even today fresh and young - Rebel Rouser. SFA is also the album which many rock bands over the world have been copyin´ the songs and riffs. It´s not even a public secret that without the Sweet and recordin´ SFA, Queen would have never catch a success they did after Q boys realised how to get to top of the charts.
Sorry, Brian, Freddie, John and Roger but Brian C and his mates made it authentic.

Sweetlife

If I really have to choose one from the old albums: Level Headed. But I also like the Sweetlife album.

Level Headed, I bought most of the others forgiving the harshnes of them. LH' was the most adult LP they ever made , being "Heavy" aint always being adult. Sweet FA is clearly a brilliant Rock LP and Boulevard has some good moments but as I've gone into middle age I find my ears have favoured melody. Lady of the lake and Silverbird should have been put out on an EP with Dream on and California Nights, a minor hit maybe but then all of them would have been known to the public. Oh and of course there is Live for today from off the record, had they opopped that up a touch it would have made a far far better single than Fever of love !! happy 2003 xxxxx

Sweet

Grew up listening to the Sweet - 1972 - Little Willy - we would all sing it on the school bus. Have all the albums/cd's from Funny How Sweet Co-Co can be to Identity Crisis. Only saw them once - in 1986 in Tasmania - were without Brian and Steve then - but were fantastic. Level Headed is the best album for me - but only just. Have also got the video made in 1989 when there was talk of the band re-uniting - absolutely classic.

Best album
