answer this topic

Often occupied men are not ready to cope with link building. Thence, their business sites don't get very high traffic. The social bookmarks service can solve this kind of problem very quickly!

EyeSS

After a long career (20 years)in just one security company through its various name changes and make overs along comes EyeSS. Immediately things changed. Management was downgraded to what would have been laughable except I was working for them, long serving staff members were one by one insulted, threatened, degraded and transferred to the worst sites. Most resigned in utter discust. These staff were replaced by sub-contractors with learning difficulties. Most of all a bunch of unhappy clients and that makes any job security impossible. Then the final insult to all who leave a $75 drycleaning deduction of wages for dry cleaning your old uniform. My advice to anyone thinking of a career in security. If you are a real loner, have no friends or family, love working long shifts at a moments notice, never need to sleep, want to work every weekend and public holiday, dont mind coping the occassional needle jab, fat lip or split head, want your employer to insult you and constantly have to chase up unpaid wages, pay for your own training and licences then be a dummy and apply. Otherwise apply for anything else and have a long and happy life.

THIS INDUSTRY SUCKS BIG TIME!

I decided to go back to University (via distance education) so that i can FINALLY leave this industry all together when i finish my second degree.......

I have worked in the security and justice area for around 15 years, both with the government and in the private sector and can unfortunately only count the good employers on one hand with two fingers cut off!

Practically (all) of the employers i have worked with, (with the exception of one or two) have had less education and or skills than me. More than one, should never have even been allowed to have gained a business licence and a few are as LOOPY as cut snakes and shouldn't even be in uniform!!!! (Except may the kind that is white and ties up around the back with nice tight white straps!)

I have only recently left an employer who gave NEW meaning to the word scary, mad, bad person!!!! He saw nothing wrong with putting his guards in dangerous and or uncomfortable situations, whinged and whined about providing a single shirt, (which was the only piece of uniform he provided me with,) complained about the stupidest little infractions, (such as not appropriately placing his cards in the exact same spot between doors at night on patrol sights and or his car tyres having scuff marks on them) never once used the words please or thank you and just happened to follow me from patrol site to patrol site...........(and just happened to appear at odd hours of the morning/night cause he just happened to be driving past (at like 2am in the morning.......) (felt more like stalking to me!!!) Thought nothing of using profane language in front of guards/the general public and was generally just a COMPLETE KNOB!!!!

and this person is running a company........just as a postscript....i haven't received my final pay from this creature as yet........and can probably invisage having to visit workplace services to lodge a non-payment of wages claim in relation to this matter.......

and PEOPLE are mean't to be happy in this industry.........NOT too sure what is happening in OTHER states but in this STATE security is about the absolute bottom of the barrel next to possibly working as a scavenger/reclycler at the local tip.

Changes needed in the Qld Industry

I love my work as a Security Officer as I get to work with many different people. However, in Qld (unlike Melbourne) the focus of most Companies is on how much money they make rather than putting the Clients needs first. Most of the Gurads in Qld also need a wake up call as almost all of them don`t take their roles very seriously. They should as it is very much a position of trust and honour. The public and their safety in any given situation should take priority, not how many hours they have left til they go home. I feel that a wake up call to the entire Security Industry in Qld is long overdue. In Melbourne I was lucky enough to work with a professional team of guards who put the Clients and their needs and safety first not to mention they valued their other colleagues, and constantly stayed aware of each others needs and safety. This is a truly professional team of Guards and I was so impressed that I am now relocating to Melbourne to further my career in the Security Industry. I leave in 3 days and can`t wait to get there and find work as soon as possible as I feel the opportunities are endless down there.

I have worked as a guard for 6 years, all my employers were only concerned with a quick dollar. Good service to our clients came last.

why is it that NASPA is the only one asking these questions where are all the so called ASIOS? Where is the NSW Police? Ripping people money's off and giving nothing back as usual.
