| Posted By: Holly Elizabeth Posted On: Sep 26, 2007 Views: 317 | the charge of the light brigade having studied this poem two years ago and to then have to study it again in a level, as well as a collection of other masterpieces such as mariana, the lady of shalott, i would like to say this is a moving poem, and shows the evidence of genius as he wrote it within the space of 20 mins. after reading an artical in the paper, i have also heard the actual wax recording whcih sounds so bacabre, but in fact is an amazing experience http://charon.sfsu.edu/TENNYSON/lightbrigadewax.html visit the site for yourself |
| Posted By: Allan Wood Posted On: Jul 6, 2007 Views: 410 | The Charge of the Light Brigade What a great poem! When I read it again, I could not help but think of our troops in Iraq today. "(Is) there a man dismay'd? Not tho' the soldiers [must know!] Some one had blunder'd: Theirs not to make reply, Theirs not to reason why, Theirs but to do and die..." Except I think many of our troops must be dismayed! I pray for our forces in Iraq, I pray they may soon be brought home safely. "They that had fought so well Come thro' the jaws of Death [come] Back from the mouth of Hell, All that [is] left of them!" |
