Currently, I'm the wife of a deployed soldier. He's been deployed for 18 months. His civilian job isn't much better as he's gone 2 and 3 nights a week. I really just want him home AND happy. Travel is all fine when you don't have little ones at home, but it's hard when they are young and don't understand or don't want to understand why Daddy isn't at x, y, or z again.

Having support is nice and all that, and granted, I don't have a lot of it, but it's not the same as having a husband. This summer, I went to visit family and could do a bunch more than I could living at home, but it's just not the same as being able to count on a husband.

Wow, more people don't care if their spouse travels than do? That's sad!

Ultimately I just want hubby to be happy and fullfilled. As June Cleaver/1950's as that sounds, it is true. I get to stay at home and homeschool my kids...I'm living my dream ''job'' I want him to be happy in his too. We went through several deployments when he was still in the ARMY, that was before kiddos though. As a fed agent he's done a few 6 week stints, those were not too bad. I don't know how I would handle every other week?
