Some offshore trading platforms are free whilst others are charged at a monthly rate. It all depends on the platform that you choose for execution of your finacial products. The European Savings Directive generally only applies to individuals (but not companies) who are earning interest from sums kept in a bank and would not affect you as a trader/ investor in products listed on recognised stock exchanges.
