| Posted By: Paige Posted On: January 11th Views: 71 | Scoliosis and Dance Well Shelbea, I am in the eighth grade too. I am also a very dedicated dancer. I was put into a brace early October of 2009 and I am still trying to cope with it. I am slowly getting used to it but it is getting better. I dance three days a week for about 2 hours each day. (not counting weekend performances) This has not really affected my dancing other than I sometimes have to wear it between performances. Trust me, It will get easier. If you have any questions, feel free to Email me at paiger-raiger@cableone.net :) |
| Posted By: Juliana Posted On: Apr 28, 2009 Views: 715 | scoliosis brace... :( Hi...I'm 12 years old, and I just got a brace for nightime only. Does anyone else have a nightime brace? Well, it hurts. I cant fall asleep at all, because I have to sleep on my back, and it is really tight around my ribs. Any advice please? :( -JULIANA |
| Posted By: Shelby Posted On: Feb 28, 2009 Views: 851 | Concerned I'm in the 8th grade and i found out that i have scoliosis arounf November. I went back for a folow up wednesday and they had told me my curves have progressed about 4 degrees in three months. My curves went from 40* to 44* and 28 to 33*. I just got fitted for a brace yesterday. Dancing has been my life since i was 3. 3 hours a day mon- thurs. I don't want to get made un of at school by people. I'm concerned that if my curves still progress and i have to get surgery, then dancing will be a struggle for me... any advice? please. |
