| Posted By: Stevo Posted On: Mar 4, 2010 Views: 263 | Top Dude Great game last night. Thought everyone played pretty well to be honest. It was end to end, hard fought tackles and some good goals from both sides. Thought Jon worked hard last night, had a few great tackles when tracking back and scored a cracker with his left foot after eventually listening to me scream shoot shoot shoot. I was gutted when that shot from stuart that was going over hit ross on the shoulder and spun over my head into the goal to equalise. I dont think our eventual winner was much better but it just shows you how close the game was. |
| Posted By: Neil Posted On: Mar 4, 2010 Views: 257 | Man Voted for Paul this week for a complete performance that didn't deserve to be on the losing side. He tackled, organised, shot, and made his own goals when there was nothing else on. The rest of our team all worked hard too without quite hitting the cohesive heights of last week, but could still possibly have edged it against a much more focussed Mince side. In the end I thought the draw might have been a fair result, and offer apologies to the team for the manner of the decisive goal. [Can you get bobbles on those pitches? Well, how else can you explain the ball skipping over the top of my foot as I attempted that easy clearance? Yeeaaah, true, I could just have had a moment of totally ****ness. I'm voting for the bobble though.] |
| Posted By: Kyle Posted On: Mar 4, 2010 Views: 249 | Man of the Match Steve for me but i though everyone on our team played well and it was a deserved win. Sorry to Stu for booting him in the ankle! |
| Posted By: scott Posted On: Mar 4, 2010 Views: 233 | even steven Thought it was a great tussle last night, with a few more physical encounteres than last weeks game. Gave Steven my vote this week for marching forward to claim a couple of individual goals to get them back into it. More than a little power in that shot which hit both posts and still made the back of the net bulge! Final Score 13 - 12. |
| Posted By: Paul Posted On: Mar 4, 2010 Views: 213 | MOTM Great game last night. Andy, Jon and myself were solid, Kyle was running like Cooper on the wing and Neil had some smashing through balls. Stuart with some nice passing and movement was pretty decent while Scott and Ross were their usual selves running around tirelessly, beating people and getting pots at goal. I went for Chocolate Steve though who showed no signs of any ankle strains and bossed the game. An absolutely blistering strike that was almost equalled by a similar dig from Kyle. I think they practise volleys in the boardroom!!! |
| Posted By: comment police Posted On: Mar 4, 2010 Views: 185 | now then, now then, what's goin' on ere then? Now now Paul, what did poor Simon do not to get a mention? |
| Posted By: Paul Posted On: Mar 4, 2010 Views: 159 | MOTM Whoops! Sorwee Simon you were awesome also with some lung busting runs, so much so i had to resort to a slide tackle at the death. I know they are frowned upon but it wasnt reckless Mr Cocovan. I promise :-) |
| Posted By: si Posted On: Mar 4, 2010 Views: 154 | ego massage Two seasons I missed through ankle ligament rupture, and another season out after a double hernia operation, but nothing hurts like being left out of Paul's comment. Nothing! (Actually I voted when I was in a meeting but was asked to speak just as I was typing my comment. I had to close the laptop and talk about fish all afternoon instead). I voted Paul because he was a total pain in the arse with his running and scoring and tackling and scoring and running and tackling and scoring. Cracking game all in, but I did think I was going to be sick from exercise. |
| Posted By: stuart Posted On: Mar 5, 2010 Views: 145 | motm thought it was a cracking match that could easily have gone either way at the end. sadly for us tatties though it went the wrong way with a couple of soft goals as the whistle drew near. great showings by all but i've gone for paul in the end as he put in a cracking shift. he just pipped stevie for my motm. |
| Posted By: Andy Posted On: Mar 5, 2010 Views: 103 | Comeback kids A no holds barred clear the air meeting on Sunday did the trick! The despondant mince were in turmoil until feelings were heard and tears were shed - another defeat this Wednesday wasn't going to happen. If terry and bridge had been there they would not only shook hands but gone and roasted one of the (Ginger?) barmaids and forgotten all their strife. Steve might have thought to why he wasn't at this meeting but the truth is he didn't need to be as we could still hear him ringing in our ears from that fate filled snowy evening. FEEEETTT!!! As it was he was the motm, ran a close 2nd by Paul the terrier. Ps also decent performances from stu, Ross, Kyle, jono, neil, Scott, Iain, Foxy, grant, Gordon, alan, marty, Robert, german Robert... As for everyone else, must try harder next week. |
| Posted By: Iain Posted On: Mar 7, 2010 Views: 89 | Comments I vote Andy's comment as comment of the match |
| Posted By: Ross Posted On: Mar 9, 2010 Views: 52 | motm Sorry guys, I've been so busy this week I barely remember last weeks game- except for loosing of course!! Probably one of the best game I've seen Paul play so he gets my vote for MOTM. |
| Posted By: Jono Posted On: Mar 9, 2010 Views: 50 | Sergent Major Went for Stevie this week. Although if he continues to bawl at me like a Sergent Major I swear I'm gonna hit him with a cricket bat! He sort of demanded that we avoided consequative losses. Good, decent game which was only spoilt by the manner of the winning goal. But I'll still take the win! |
