I had to make my own coffee

Hmmm....

I enjoyed the game again, but for the second week in a row the main reason for that was for not hobbling off at the end. I also enjoyed my very funny joke of hugging Paul off the ball towards the end of the game. Or didn't. No, I didn't enjoy that, that was silly. Apologies for poor show.

I had little or no idea who to vote for this week. For the whites, after the volleyed opening goal I thought Iain had a chance, but he slipped last week's shooting boots on so can't get the nod. And I guess one of the whites should get it. I actually feel any of our team could have snapped it up: good communication and awareness throughout, few missed chances and having the luck of some rotten blues finishing or good blocks and saves when it was better all helped us to the win.

Jon rallied us well, Kyle played the passing game, Scott dug in, all showed good energy, but this week I think Neily gets the nod. Constant harrying in defence and a couple of fine saves kept the momentum up for us so you gets the vote.

It's difficult not to enjoy a game when your team plays as well as the whites did last night. The passing was sharp, tackles solid, shooting accurate and everyone was mentally switched on for it. Kyle and Scott both stepped up a notch from even their recent excellent form, and their shooting from all angles was pinpoint; and with Jono covering every inch between the two D's it was near enough impossible to decide on a Man Of The Match, but in the end I voted for Simon. He got involved in EVERYTHING that was going: tracked Ross's sprints, got stuck right into the tackles (the Greco-Roman wrestling with Paul near the end just displayed his determination), won a barrowload of balls and scored from the chances he made for himself. Outstanding show.

Sorry for the blues, and sorry that it wasn't a better contest, but obviously very happy with the result.

And the winner of the male tight t-shirt goes to?

My leg is in bits this morning and it wasn't much better during the game. Still the knowledge of a convincing victory does go some way to easing the pain.

My thoughts of last nights game go something like this. We rode our luck at times with some great goalkeeping and some generous rub of the green. However, for large spells of our game I thought we were quite dynamic. As has been noted I could vote for any one of my team mates as they all made considerable contributions. But I've gone for Neil. I thought his ability to contribute for large spells was telling. He picked up the right men and passed on men to those who might be better placed to get the ball back superbly last night (and yes I do mean Ross). His link up play was also the best I've seen this season. So a tip of the hat to ya wee man.

Oh.............

Tight t-shirt comp WINNER = Kyle. Next week I hear he may wear it wet!

We were completely outplayed and just didn't gel as a team, they did. They all played really well and I could have gone for any of them but chose Kyle. His usual mazy runs and goals, but also linked well with his team mates.

Shot Si, SHOT Si, a hatrick......OMG 4 in 9 mins!

MOTM goes to Si for me. An opening hatrick in 8 mins was astonishing..... then the ball came back over the fence, was passed straight to his feet from the mince keeper and he slotted home a 4th. EASY!!!

A fairly one sided match as Iain suggeted, although it was brought back to about 4 at one point after a 10 minute rally period in which Ross and Paul managed to take advantage of some slack play. Otherwise, a strong linked up display from the tatties meant a secure win.

A down side for me is that my brother in-law can now legitmately claim to have a bigger knob than me...... At least until the swelling goes down!

As a team we really seemed to gel well and, although it may have got as close as 4 in front at one point, we were cruising all the way through.

Neil and Jon were excellent but Si and Scott where even more excellenter. I voted for Si because he was the excellentist.
I think it may have been a perfect hat trick too si would that be right?http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=perfect%20hat-trick

Neil

Despite Si's opening flurry of goals from all parts of his body AND the fact he bought me lunch, I've had to go for Neil - best I've seen him play in ages and he really stood out for me.

(sorry Si)
