Other reason

I build them because they are a puzzle of sorts and lots of fun. :) It's the creative process and the "reward" at the end that keeps me coming back. :)

Action Figures, props and armor

I'm an action figure and robot nut so I gravitate to the models that have high degrees of articulation. The idea of putting together a paper statue doesn't appeal to me. I love the complexity and creative engineering put into the joints and other aesthetics. Also I love the idea of being able to print out and assemble my own costume armor and props =D

Hobby-Art

I build them because they are art, because it's a cheap way of do working prototypes and because it's awesome :3

Why I build papercraft models

Its great to wind down from the stress of work. To focus on something else. And it keeps me from killing my teenage daughter

Why I build papercraft

Personnally, i'm not a juge fan of video games, but I really love storylines, backgrounds, and "epic" characters from famous games; having the possibility to have one of them proudly standing on my desk was my principal motivation to start papercrafting...
But then, I also found it was really funny, quiet and distressing to build and, maybe most important, it's keeping me a bit from screwing around my computer 10+ hours a day :o))
And that's a very cheap hobby available to everyone with a large choice of models!
So I voted the first and second options.

Hobby :D

I just do it because it is a fun rewarding hobby. There's nothing like sitting down and building/designing something that I really like.

For fun, to have a figurine

I'm a big fan of all kinds of video games, cartoons and movies, so I really enjoy making and building papercraft models from those series.

I find it a lot of fun making them, and for me, it's much more than just making a simple model out of boredom (although it does prevent me from getting bored of course! ;o)
