Happy New year. Oh, and BN2.

BN2 is the most beginner-friendly game in the series, IMO: no cheapness really comes into play until MagnetMan or thereabouts, and by then, chances are you already know how to kick butt and take names.

BTW, may your 2015 not suck, CX fans.

Probably the 2nd game

I too feel like the the 2nd game is the best to start with. The first game was a proof of concept with some good ideas on a type of game that had never been done before, and after seeing what could be improved they released their 2nd game which overall has more polish and player friendly elements, with the 3rd game being more or less its final form with only some small additions afterwards, but noting major.

I personally started on the 3rd game and after playing that one it is impossible to go back to the 1st game, I'm too used to the things they gave me, the innovations they made to make the game better and more fun. Man were these games fun, cant wait for Chrono X.

BN6 is the easiest

BN6 was an absolute walk in the park. the ONLY difficult part was the Graveyard area with Bass. I was able to beat the story without one gameover. Definitely beginner material.

BN3

I would say BN3, partly because it was the first one I played, and it was pretty easy. BN2 would be my 2nd pick. BN6 was easy but it was the very last, so the story line might be hard to follow. BN4 and 5 were hard, and BN1 is kind of boring and old.

When u look at it all, it can only be...

BN2. Why? Look at the story of 3, at this point, we're too far into the story, you will feel more left out and also, things were changed in it. (Example, style changes) BN1 while yes the beginning, is very hard, u can't run without an escape chip, the armor is a must have but also a double edge sword and the game just felt so off, albeit it was the first one but still, u can easily get lost in the "unique" design of the net. BN4, uhh, double soul, tourney style, repeat game, need I say more? 5 had liberation missions and took away Megas friends. BN6 had Link Navi styles and took Lan & Mega away from ACDC and their friends, not to mention is the last of the series and that along is a disqualifier. Transmission is also different, not one u want to start with and same with chip challenge. I won't count the Japan only BN games. :P

So again, you are left with BN2, however, I still rec people to play BN1 and the rest in order.

as for CX

I forgot, read sub,
I won't count it because it takes place after the events of the last "official" BN game and thus again disqualifies it, not to mention the full game isn't out yet so, same result. I also feel as though the memento system would take away from the many choices of chips a first timer can have since each memento is based on having a certain type of folder made for it. (E.g. Shark or rather sadly now, Freeze Memento needs water based chip folder) In all honesty, I'd LOVE to try and USE the mementoes, but if it means building up a mostly water, elec. etc. chip folder and sacrificing what I love to use, forget it. :P And thus that's another reason why CX isn't best to play 1st. (Now if it's just a demo, maybe, but not the full game)

Misvote

I said 4 in the poll, but after thinking about it, 3 would be better. 1 and 2 are bad because they lack the Navicust, which is a large part of the series, IMO. 5 and 6 are bad because they force you to use navis that aren't Megaman. Then I remembered that 4 has darkchips, which aren't beginner friendly at all, so 3 would be the best.
