A toss up

I had a listen to the new tracks before work. I did put my vote in for Demo v5's music, as it's definitely more old-school than before (Reminds me of Demo v3, actually), and the internet theme is quite well-refined this time around.

On the other hand... Demo v4's soundtrack was also nicely done. I have nothing against MaxieDaMan's work, I think he did a great job. But Soulred12's work is a bit more...defined, I guess is the word. Even so, both options work, and a good job to both of them.

P.S. Congrats to Soulred's job...will he make a Phoenix Wright cameo now? :P

A switch option?

For some reason, the comment section doesn't work for me, I can't type in the boxes on the official site...

Hmm, what about making an option to switch between Demo 4's and Demo 5's soundtrack?

All but one.

You are wasting that awesome AC/DC theme from demo 4, but the other 2 are better.

About the new demo

Does this mean that we will have to start over from the start? If the entire game really was re-designed then that means it is very unlikely that it will accept Save files from previous demos, is it not?

I wanted to ask this in the site but for some reason I am unable to type in the comments section.

Love the new!

The new versions are so much better! I like the older versions for nostalgia's sake, but the new versions will help give the game its own identity which I think will really help make it stand out from other versions.

yes

The new virus busting theme feels way better than the old one.

The new ACDC theme kind of feels... hollow? The old one had a full sound but I'm not sure which I like better. I think the old one fits the game better but the new one fits the series better perhaps.

The new internet theme takes me to 3 for some reason, and I like it. Especially that part in that last 10 seconds. It feels incomplete though.

They sound off...

Like I like the 1st two and the 3rd (Execute) took a bit of time to get used to but I GUESS it's ok, but all 3 sound off for some reason like something is either missing or they're too something, can't describe it. The execute theme I'm just really not diggin though, doesn't sound right. I love the 1st bit which sounds like it should be a theme for a Colourman/Wackoman theme (... I dislike Circusman's design, but loved his Net OP) so hopefully that can be sued else where in the game but it's fine in the execute theme, but the rest after it just, no.

Btw, I am not voting as and it's been too long since I've played demo 4.0.1 so i can't compare whether the new tracks are better than the original or not.

Silence

Sometimes to much music isn't good. Plain and simple. While you have some good background elements, there's too much there. Think some of the tracks would to better with more softer melody parts. As for originality, I'd go for a complete new sound, instead of using the classic sound and beefing it up with a bunch of techno and pop sounds.

Like coming home, music-wise

Absolutely nothing at all against SoulRed's work, but the Demo 5 versions... are incredible. It feels like I'm 12 years old playing BN3 again. Sound samples are on point, motifs borrow from the original games to keep within the 'BN Spectrum' but still have enough originality to make it feel like the new chapter of the series this game is.

Love it, love it, love it.

Retro

I agree, it gives a very retro BN vibe that brings me back to the days of 2 and 3. Love it! I would say they do feel like they need a little more energy at times though, at least more in the virus busting theme. There is also something g off maybe in the ACDC Town theme in the middle part or so. Not sure. The net theme brings me back to my favorite net theme (BN3) though, so I can dig it.

New Music

I have listened to MaxieDaMan's MMBN Mock-Up tracks and loved each and every of those three tracks (especially the victory theme), so I am really glad you guys got him on board! I love the new tracks, especially the Internet and Virus Battle theme (I'm listening to the latter as we speak, haha).

I like SoulRed12's music as well (such as the boss theme) but my personal problem was that the soundchip(?) didn't sound MMBN-esque like the other tracks in the series (didn't sound like it came from a GBA soundchip in other words, but then again, I'm not an expert on that kind of stuff, hehe).

I personally think with Maxie joining the team, this game can REALLY feel like a true Mega Man Battle Network sequel!

(As for you SoulRed12, I congratulate you on your lawyer job! Really glad you're continuing that path!)
