BC250D

I was going to hold off until I was able to see a 250D at the Scannermaster Open House held back in December.

Once I was able to play with it a bit, there was little doubt one would be added to the arsenal. The "Money Gods" were good to me, and the rest is history. I ordered both 250D and BCi25D from Jeff. There is not a lot of digital activity in my area (Cape Cod, MA) but places I regularly travel are loaded with APCO-25 and 3600 baud systems.

Can't wait! It's Christmas two weeks late! :)

encryption

have one on order...but Orange County, CA, has all comms digital AND encrypted, which is a source of frustration and angst!! How many PD's out there are totally encrypted!! At least, I can listen to the LAPD and possible future digitailzation of the OC fire depts. No solution, but if anybody has ideas on how to battle this encryption thing, let us all know!!

9600 baud

It just really ****es me off that if we want APCO-25 with BOTH 3600 and 9600 baud, we have to either buy TWO scanners (one of these plus wait for the next version), or just do without until they eventually come out with an all-purpose model. I think they did it on purpose... Uniden CAN'T be that $hort $ighted... or can they?

9600 baud

Where I live, they use APCO-25, but it's conventional and not trunked, so the baud business isn't a concern for us.
