Need 64MB - external SD card is not an alternative

Comparing 64MB RAM vs SD Card is like talking about computer RAM vs Hard Disk. When RAM is low, hard disk just isn't the right alternative!

I have TT1 and am suffering from low memory limit. I do have a 256MB SD Card, and am running some apps off from the SD card; but this is really bad. not to mention that when SD Card is removed (or replaced with another card) I'll lose the capability of using those apps, but most importantly it's damn slow loading files or apps from the SD card.

My AvantGo database is on SD card and everytime I open AvantGo I had to wait for 20 seconds or so before I can click on any link. Ever since I moved AvantGo to SD, I rarely use it; and between AvantGo and Palm, I opt for AvantGo. I'm losing my patience. :(

Some were right, with the price of Treo 650 I'm fully qualified as a Power User and have the right to be "demanding" (and I don't think 64MB is at all demanding!)

Looks like I had to switch to a PocketPC in order to get everything in one with sufficient memory at lower price. A "regular user" model of PPC would satisfy my need of a Palm "Power User". Come on Palm, TT5 has let me down by not including WiFi or a basic Camera, don't let me down again with Treo 650!

64MB not far enough

If you ask me Treo 650 should have 128MB ram plus the memory fixes. In addition I'd like to see a mini HD drive with 20+ Gig built in. Should have at least as much space for music as iPOD. Add on top of that the "included" capability to play back MPEG 4 movies with 4-5 stored on the HD like the new palm sized media stations. Palm could then set up an audible.com like/iTunes site specifically for movies that can be played on Treo650. Just a few thoughts...

Even dream devices sometimes fall very short...

Well, I've been eying on 650 since they released the 600 last year. Only thing which kept me buying one was the not availability of the Treo 600 here in this part of the world Sri Lanka and the low resolution.

Now since the release of the 650 I've asked one of my friend over there in US to reserve (buy) one for me.

I've been using CLIE from the beging and I love their 320x320 screens I am consumed by that and cannot go back to 160 which partly kept me from buying any Palm devices untill now.

Now SONY is out of the game I need to upgrade my CLIE but because of this treo 650 NVFS issue now I asked my friend not to get a Treo untill this thing solved. So come on.. Add 64MB or 128MB if it is NVFS before I even consider buying a another Palm. Even the basic PDA got 128 nowadays. And it's cheap. I am happy with the CLIE unless the GSM capabilities and I probably will get a PocketPC with GSM receiver if you don not come out clean in this.

So Mr Palm, I love your OS and I have been using them for the last 4 years now. It is not hard for me to give up the love affair since PocketPCs too have become pretty girls now.
