| Posted By: Da.Montano Posted On: Feb 8, 2006 Views: 298 | Survival Horror If you want a defenite definition of "Survival Horror" it would have to be, w/o a shout of doubt, The Silent Hill Series. What a demented and sick (not in a insulting comment)video game. I absolutely luv the story line, very original in a sense where "Jacob's Latter" meets "Resident Evil" made luv, and out came "Silent Hill". Konami has made many great games like Contra & Castlevania, but Silent Hill has help put Konami back in the map, since those games. Experiencing playing the game, I wouldn't dare play the game by myself in the dark. I remember asking my broters to watch me play the game so that I won't Sh*t myself. The game gave me many sleepless nights and I always find myself waking up in cold sweat because of it. There hasn't been one game that you'll experience MAJOR FEAR & Intrigue at the same time 'till Silent Hill. I thought RE (resident evil) was scary enough, but Silent Hill makes RE seem G rated. Now a movie is coming out on Silent Hill......what the F**K are they thinking. I mean the game was scary enough now there making a movie. The first time I played SH 1, I thought to myself, "man they have to make a movie of this game", that was 5 years ago. Now 2006. I read that the director played the SH 1 when it first came out....so I hope he experience the same intrigue and fear that I felt, and imply that in the movie. This will help the people who are not fimiliar w/ the game have a similar feeling as if they played the game. I also heard that Yamogota (I don't know If I spelled it right) ,the conductor of the SH series, will do the music for the movie. That will also help the movie, since the songs where a major factor in the erie game. Using a girl instead of a guy (Harry) isn't much of a downfall as some fan's might think. I always felt that Harry seem's more mother-like then a father figure then todays macho dad personality. The closeness between mother and child seem more appropiate for the movie. It shows a great deal of a mother's sacrafice to save her child from any form of Hazard even if it involves death. But then again one can argue with the meaning of Daddy's Little Girl. Either way I think the movie will do find, won't be a smash hit but it won't be like MOrtal Kombat, Resident Evil movies, both movies that didn't fallow the plot. Silent Hill Will is the king......I mean the GOD of Survival Horror games. Thank Konami for all your nightmares. |
| Posted By: dj Posted On: May 3, 2005 Views: 396 | terror of silent hill has anyone ever been so terrified of something it gave you night mares? well silent hill did it for me not the first one but after the second game i could not play it anymore after that and i had to use a guide for sh3 . i played sh3 just because i was already invested in the series and had to know what was next.i played it once and have not even viewed it ever again. i have never even removed the soundtrack from the case since you know that sound is 70%of silent hills fear.i could not and never will listen to it.i only picked up silent hill in 99 because i had a few dollars extra after i bought resident evil2 and simply needed another game and it was rated mature and it hasd a cool case.i didnt even play it for 6 months but when i did i was hooked and played it constantly till i completed it.i was salivating when sh2 finally arrived but there was when the real terror for me began the graphics made me have real nightmares and the darkness made me crazy...literally!this is the single most terrifying piece of media ive ever encountered and ever will.this reason is the reason the movie will never equal the game ..it simply cannot no matter what!i,however will be the first in line to see it and i will probably die of fear and go to hell to begin my eternity of torment in the town of silent hill because i can think of no other torture that would be equal punishment for a life of sin than being trapped in that town with no hope of ever escaping! |
