| Posted By: Ray Lam Posted On: Jul 29, 2006 Views: 400 | Picky picky picky The United States gov't always chooses which fight they want to engage in. The US tries to make itself look like they are peacemakers of the world when that is anything but the truth. The US endorsed Saddam before he was offically a tyrant. So basically Saddam is a US mistake. Tyrant or not, that wasn't the mission to begin with in Iraq remember????? The so called plan was to disarm Iraq of it's WMDS, but since that didn't work out, they changed their story to 'Operation Iraqi Freedon'. I hate to say it but alot of Americans are just twiddling their thumbs letting the gov't turn into this big bully. Well I guess since the early americans HIJACKED the Indians land why stop there? |
| Posted By: elmer Posted On: Aug 5, 2005 Views: 490 | war in iraq 1) Starting in 1991 Iraqi Nationals have lobbyed the USA Congress to remove Saddam. Even though they had the largest lobbying group in Washington DC there wasnt much in the press as those involved had relatives in Iraq who would be killed if it was even found out these Iraqi nationals were alive. 2) Saddam agreeded to a ceasefire agreement, after operation desert strom. From 1993 to 1999 Saddam violated that agreement 17 times. Normaly after the first violation the ceasefire stops and we USA would have compleated that job. Sadly we waited and had to distroy stuff in Iraq anyway. There are other reasons involved but these are the primarys.... |
