I prefer to use libraries

One of the great things I love about this country is this great service we have of being able to go into a building, pick up a book from a selection of hundreds and be able to BORROW IT for no charge. Of course it's important to support independent stores but it's also important to support libraries. I don't think I would be writing today without them

Independent Bookshops

If you're struggling to buy from a local independent, Inpress Books is an online bookshop that only sells books from independent publishers. They're funded by the Arts Council and have an excellent selection of writing.

Independent book shops

I used to buy most or all of my books from indepedent book stores - and I would love to do so now, but all my local shops have closed, to be replaced by Asda, Tesco, and charity shops. Even our Waterstone's has gone!

So I use the internet. How I wish I had another choice.
