Draft

2008 Draft Day One

Its very tempting to go for value and talent at pick # 23 and/or # 54 such as a running back or wide receiver position early, but let's face it -- if the Steeler's don't address their O-Line needs in Free Agency --it is their greatest need.

Thus, I could see an OT and OG/OC on day one -- along with either the best running back to fit their system, or best defensive player available -- such as a pass-rusher at DE, ILB, FS, or CB.

Day 2 will address depth needs most likely at Free Safety, Defensive End, and Inside Linebacker. (However a late tall wide receiver, fullback or big running back and center are also possibilities...but are less likely as they can be addressed in FA or in 2009.)

My Mock at this point would be:

1. OT: Sam Baker, Jeff Otah or G. Cherilus
2. OG: B.Albert or Best Pass Rusher!
3. RB: Matt Forte or FS Hefney

4. FS/ILB: J. Barrett, or V. Hall
5. DE/ILB/CB: Blake, Larsen, Goff, Terrell
6. WR/OC/RB/FB: Arrington, Monk, Purify, Lichtensteiger, Green-Ellis, Richard.

steelers draft

Mahan is the worst center the steelers have had in 30 years. low salary or not he has to go. we need an offensive lineman who is going to start asap and protect ben and help the running game.

after that they need - d line - casey is getting old and krischke is too small.

lastly and inside linebacker to replace farrior and a legitimate punt/kick returner.
