jeff gordon vs dale earnhardt sr.

Nascar has had 3 main eras and there has been 3 drivers that have dominated those three time periods. Those three drivers are Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt and jeff gordon. The main reason you cannot compare these three drivers is because of the drastic changes nascar has went through over the years, in the early days when Petty was winning races and championships the racecars were slower and alot heavier than today making the car alot easier to control, in Earnhardts prime the racecars were topping out around 185 mph making the racing more intense and more talent was needed than in petty's prime, Gordon on the other hand is racing cars that go over 205 mph at some tracks. We also have to look at there records at road courses like watkins glen and sonoma that take the most driving skills to win at than any other track and jeff gordon has won the most times there than any other person in nascar history, more than dale and richard combined. So even though it is difficult to compare these three in my opinion the driver with the most talent would be Jeff gordon followed by richard petty and then Sr. But everyone has the right to an opinion and the best thing we could do is not compare there carrers and just admire there accomplishments without trying to figure who is better.

Jeff Gordon

Dale Earnhardt was extremely talented but always had the best equipment and a great team, and crew throughout his career into the 1990s.This allowed him to win 7 championships over his career. Jeff Gordon had a great team and the best crew chief until Ray Everham left. However, jeffs best tracks are driver skill tracks like Martinsville, Darlington, Bristol, Road Courses, and Richmond. Jeff also has plenty of wins at superspeedways like Talladega and Daytona. Jeff's skill at tire conservation and daredevil attitude at all tracks have kept him as to awesome wim totals at such a young age.
