| Like A Prayer songs & singles
I like most of the songs on this album except Act Of Contrition (which I
can nonetheless appreciate in a funny kind of way) and Love Song, but do
still have (as with a few other Madonna albums) one or two quibbles with
the choices of singles from it. I was especially disappointed that my
favorite track (Till Death Do Us Part - not sure that I've heard another
uptempo pop song before or since that I would describe as haunting)
never came out as a single as I was looking forward above all else to
getting remixed and/or extended versions of it, but I can at least
understand why it didn't in light of how personal it must have been to
her.
Spanish Eyes not having a single release however did and still does seem
a bit bizarre to me, although there's no telling for sure that it
would've done well in the charts given that Oh Father (which I think is
almost as good) failed to in most or all of the places where it had such
a release. I was pleased that Keep It Together was a single though even
if it was only in the US and a couple or three other countries, but have
never been as keen on its less lively and characterful (to my ears
anyway) Single Remix and wonder if it might have achieved higher chart
positions had the 7" version been more similar to or the same as that on
the album.
Hope that Supernatural is included as a new or bonus track if the
remastering of Madonna's early albums which has so far stopped with True
Blue is ever continued - as long as it's inserted somewhere before and
not after Act Of Contrition, as the latter would be very out of place I
think if it was anything but the final, closing track.
