taxes

My husband moved here 47 years ago and I in 1985 we loved the county then but it has now become too crowed and more like urban than rural. My husband is a retired self employed small business owner, with only social security, while I still work I dont make fantastic money(school board) we are just about priced out of the county by increasing property taxes. We have an older farm house and should not have as high a tax bill as we do. It does no good to try to get it reduced when all that happens is they just send it back saying we dont qualify when we are just above the limit. We hope to make it to my retirement so we can get out of this county and state as well, because noone listens when people tell them we are being taxed to DEATH.

gangs and drugs

I feel we need more police in the city of Westminster to control the drugs and gangs that are popping up everywhere. The kids in Westminster are getting out of control and we need to do something. Go to the court house and look at all the kids there waiting to see a judge and tell me that we DONT NEED something done. It is out of control and getting worse and I never hear anything about a change to get back in control.

Jobs

With more better paying jobs in Carroll Co., there'd be less need for people to travel farther to work, therefore decreasing the need for more roads. Better jobs would also increase our tax revenue. We need to increase our professional (rather than industrial) job opportunities in our county to improve the quality of life for all residents.
