KFC- Moorefield, West Virginia: Workers were caught on video stomping on chickens, kicking them, and violently slamming them against floors and walls. Workers also ripped the animals' beaks off, twisted their heads off, live scalding, debeaking, spat tobacco into their eyes and mouths, spray-painted their faces, and squeezed their bodies so hard that the birds expelled feces—all while the chickens were still alive. |

Of course, considering that the majority of thsose years I was unaware of how incredible horrifying that company really is. The chickens being genetically modified adds onto the cruelty. My god, you would still feel emotions if someone stuck a needle in you to make you grow 10 times your size. Not to mention how unhealthy all processed meat is. My decision to be vegetarian will likely save me a life obesity, high blood pressure, cholestorol, and heart disease. Blame yourself. You are funding these preople, to continue doing downright terrible things. |

I eat meat but I do agree that animals should be treated with dignity, maybe even apologized to/thanked in some way before they're slaughtered. And pigs have so much personality (like dogs) it's hard for me to eat pork sometimes. |

Even if Dan Rather is the one you got your info from, PETA is the one that got the controversy started. I'm sure that farmed chickens don't have the best life, but I'm not going to stop eating chicken because of it. I've heard a lot of back-and-forth about hormones and I'm sure that there are some hormones in the chicken and milk (and probably half of everything else we eat). Organic food is great, but the average joe can't afford it! Chicken isn't going to kill you. Maybe fried chicken... There have been crazy reports about these mutant chickens that have no beaks or feet...that's impossible. Most farmed animals (of any variety) are totally healthy. It would be very unprofitable for the farmer to have unhealthy animals. Not to mention illogical... Also, people are designed to eat MEAT! Vegans are very unhealthy people. I knew a vegan that used to give me a hard time for eating meat. I personally have saved dozens of lives of wildlife animals, puppies and kittens. That ignorant thinking ****es me off. I also give money to organizations like World Wildlife Fund and Nature's Conservancy who buy land around the world to save wild animals' habitat. Of course, PETA sent me stuff in the mail to get my money and they said rabbits don't have tear ducts so it's cruel to test on them because they can't cry. I know for a fact they do have tear ducts, so from that moment on I've been against PETA. Now everything I've learned makes me hate them more and more. |

I agree that what some people/companies have done to animals is cruel, such as clubbing turkeys, genetically modifying animals for more meat, etc., but remember your "Lion King" days of yore and the whole circle of life. Or if you like SouthPark, the whole Mr. Hankey circle of poo works just as well. One thing to note is that our livestock is producing leaner meat than ever before, with Pork leading the way. Of course, when some reporter finds out that one or two people that are raising animals to be consumed at restaurants like KFC are beating them, some bug controversy will break out. And then radical nutcases like PETA will s#*t their pants over this and call a corporation evil. Its amazing how one or two bad apples at a global corporation can ruin it all for millions of people. |

And I too hate PETA because they always sensationalize things and go for shock tactics. Most farm animals lead a less than ideal life... I know, I grew up on a farm.
