| Posted By: James Posted On: Feb 2, 2006 Views: 1247 | Government rant OK, I haven't done this since debate class so it might be a little, well, anyway. If you have any better ideas write about them. First off, it's not world domination. It's cooperation. Look at our problems today. Slow disaster help, food shortages, war, terrorism, and countries that think they have the right to make other countries do things their way. Some countries have the ability to change these things in their own borders, yet they don't. Why is this? I may be wrong, but it seems that most people in government want to have either more money in their pocket or want to have as much power as posable. Not all of them are corrupt, and thats why things are still moving along. Our leaders must not be elected on what they promise, but on what they have done, and what kind of person they are. Don't elect someone who has interests, and by gaining power can expand them. Like Bush and his oil fields, the Bush family is one of the biggest producers of U.S. oil. Remember when Katrina hit and he decided to hold off and letting oil reserves go, and also being reluctant to do anything about gas prices, and not giving proper grants and leeway to people producing alternative energies. Finding someone wise and intelligent are the key. This has nothing to do with age. Intelligence is the information a person has gathered, and wisdom is the ability to use it. We must start putting in people who meet these requirements. Thats how to start fixing our nation. Now for the world, you cant have one leader. You must have a group of leaders, one from every country. Not a representative, but the leader him/her self. (I'm no good with names, how about "The World Senate, TWS") The countries will, for the most part get to keep doing things as they once did but with a few changes will bring about stability and a new age of prosperity for all people. One, every country gives it's military to the combined force of the world senate, so no one country can wage war on another. This includes no WMD's for anyone. You cant go around telling people they cant have something when you do. No double standards. Everyone is to be treated the same. All countries are to be given the same clout in whatever decision is to be made. Two, The only handouts are to be; housing, medical, and food. People who don't have what they need are to be given what they need to earn it. Government housing needs to be erected for anyone willing to work. A percent of what they make goes back to the housing for upkeep and security. If your not working because you are sick, then you are to be given a food card until you can get back on your feet. These are to be reevaluated every month. If you are not working because you cant find work then you are to do community service. This pays for your rent and food card. This is a rough outline that needs to be worked on, but it solves homelessness and hunger. Three, more needs to go to the development of technology, with an emphases on green energy, medical, and transportation. Combining all the nations into one will let let the wall fall, so to speak, on government and private sector technologies and make them work together. Of course these plans will make taxes go up slightly, and to help with that, there is to be a standard percent as to what someone is to pay. Also, you are to be taxed once. Here where I live there are taxes to pay before I even get my paycheck, then taxes to pay when I buy food, and ext. For those of you who think these plans will take away freedoms of ownership, they don't. BTW, if you live in America and think you own anything you are mistaken. Take your car, or house, anything. If you don't pay taxes on them you cant use them, or they are taken. Every child will go to better schools, and collages are to be paid for, if they make a certain amount, by them or if not then by government with no playbacks. All educational institutes are to meet the same higher standards, and costs are to be equalized.. Think of it as an investment in our future. No one is to be allowed to be discriminated against for religion, race, or anything else as long as what they are doing isn't hurting anyone. State and Church must truly be separated. No, "In god we trust", or religious documents on government buildings. All government must be controlled by reason, not feelings or what someone thinks may be right. This cannot though interfere with anyone practicing what religion they will. I've got lots more, I'm going to wait on the feedback as to what questions or arguments anyone has. |

You assume everyone thinks alike which is the biggest flaw in your rant. No one will ever agree on anything, and in the end, force will be the deciding factor. And... you are suggesting that we not only pay taxes for welfare in the U.S., but worldwide. This contradicts natural selection and is the main reason we end up with people like you. |
