Trucker Jimmie

Not that you people give a ****, but...

I gave my 2 week notice at BK today. I got the trucking job. There telling me the average for a first year driver is between 22 and 58 k. Nice. It's not really about the money though, it's about having the chance to explore the country and get paid for it, lol. As long as I pass the drug test, background check, and all the federal Hazmat stuff I'm good to go. I'm to be in Carlial (sp?) Pennsylvania for training on March 3rd.

congrats man! That's excellent news! I really wish the best for you on this new venture, and exploring the country will be shweet! Except for whyoming, there's jack **** in that state, I'd recommend that you have the suicide hotline on speed-dial if you ever have to go through that place.

peace and love

RE: Trucker Jimmie

Getting paid to travel. That has to be the ultimate job! (well except for those jobs where you get paid to do nothing - eg, Paris Hilton)

I've never been to America, but I'm sure its great, and you'll never get tired of exploring!

Also, if and when I do ever get to America, I know where not to visit - thanks impersonator!

Congrats and good luck with the job Dragonmaster.

I have been to just about every state in the country and Wyoming is paradise compared to South Dakota, Iowa, and Nebraska.

Figure on the 22K. 58K is for the guy popping pills, running nonstop, and cheating his log book. Let us know what states you will be traveling through so we know to stay off the interstate highways.

RE: Trucker Jimmie

I know I know, I'm being unfair to WY kinda. I only said that because my buddy and I took a road trip up there once and we were going to get some fireworks so that we could blow some **** up. We get into cheyenne and all of the stands are closed, so we looked around for something to do and the most "happening" place up there was a village in....The roadtrip itself was fun, but cheyenne was a HUGE disappointment. I understand that there are some ok towns up there, but I really don't know anybody who would like to live there unless they're into having nothing to do.

That sounds pretty negative and close minded. Glad to see you are coming around.

RE: Trucker Jimmie

i can see the not wanting to live there part...so many parts of the country are like that. maybe not to that extent, though.

i'm kind of spoiled being next to NYC and only an hour away from the beach in NJ, plus an hour fifteen to philly and 2 hours to atlantic city. i still consider moving to florida for the weather and disney world, though =^..^=

RE: Trucker Jimmie

you're right wr, I'm training myself to become more like you since I do adore you so very much. Nah, I just like to give WY a hard time, I have a couple of very distant relatives who live up there who we visit occasionally. I don't know though, they have a drive-through liquor store about every 50 ft, doesn't that kinda tell you how depressing that place can be?

peace and love

RE: Trucker Jimmie

I knew of a drive-thru liquor store in one of the L.A. Suburbs. That didn't make it depressing at all. There are a lot more depressing places than Wyoming. The eastern half of Colorado is way worse. Denver totally sucks. It is a smog bowl. Wyoming at least is scenic.

When someone says they are spoiled because they live near NYC I picture meat that has gone bad in the refrigerator.

RE: Trucker Jimmie

Hmm....I can't really think of anywhere in Australia that is actually bad. I mean, the whole desert bit in the middle is probably a bit bland (but even that has its up-sides eg, cute animals, no speed limit [well, there probably is a speed limit, but its a desert - who cares!] and um...lots of sand....), but apart from that its just a completely beautiful country. I can highly reccommend this place.

RE: Trucker Jimmie

it's very true that the eastern part of colorado is a total dive. Downtown denver is a pretty cool place, the outskirts can be a little questionable though. But south of denver there's a place called the DTC (denver tech center) and that place ****ing rocks. I use to work in the DTC before I moved to stockholm my second time around in going there. As far as Denver being a smog bowl I'd have to disagree with you, our air here is pretty good, especially in comparison to Los Angeles.

I'm not the biggest fan of Denver though, I am planning on moving to Oregon after I finish my certifications and atleast get about half-way through my degree. Colorado has so many beauties to it, most of them are in the mountains or the foothills. If you'd just go to Garden of the Gods you'd see what I'm talking about wr. That place....wow, it takes the breath right out of you, especially during the sun-set.

peace and love

RE: Trucker Jimmie

The air is not good in Denver. Last time I was there they had a smog alert and old people were supposed to stay indoors. I heard that the location of the city in up against the mountains on one side and the foothills on the other make it a bowl for collecting bad air. LA is no measure of quality anything.

Western Colorado is a whole different story. Western Colorado, Oregon, eastern Washington, northern Idaho, and western Montana are some of the best places in the US to go.

Bad things about Australia? How about your toilets rotate water backwards, you have winter in June, and you kidnapped Nemo.

WARNING! No spell check alert. I'm on another PC and am about to show how great the American educational system worked for me...

You want borring? Try it here in WV. Even the weather channel won't say anything about us...

The best part for me is that I get to choose my own routes, they tell me what to take and when to take it, and what time to be there, but I get to choose how I'm gonna get there, and I don't have to unload freight, I just drop off the trailer and pick up another.

Vixy, I've collected stones and fosles all my life, lol. There's this place not far from my house where you can get ferns (I think thats what they are) if your carefull you can get pretty big ones. There's a little musium not to far either, they have a fern and some amber I brought in. I always wanted a job there but it's volunteer only...just my luck...anyway...

RE: Trucker Jimmie

You actually care which way the water in your toilet rotates!?

Winter in June is just an awesome excuse for a mid-year European holiday!

And as for Nemo....I really have no defence for that....except that....well...its a cartoon. Probably written by Americans!
