RE: Question about Conservatism

"i know it wont kill off humanity or anything like that."

And you base this on what? Global warming has the potential to cause a whole lot of death. By the way, one of the problems they always stated about cutting down rain forests were that they helped clean the air of "greenhouse gases" which would cause global warming.

"I ask you what do you actually want done"

It doesn't really matter. Humans will never alter their behavior enough to prevent their own demise. Between nuclear, chemical and biological weapons, pollution and environmental damage, global warming, antibiotics abuse, irresponsible genetics, poor farming practices, overfishing, overpopulation, pandemic virus potential, starvation, natural resource depletion, and a few hundred other things that don't immediately come to mind you can bet the human race is not going to survive past the next few hundred years. People are just smart enough to be dangerous and too stupid to know it.

RE: Question about Conservatism

Even if it did cause a whole lot of death it wouldnt end life on earth. It would end civilization, but thats a good thing. The fact is theres nothing you can do about global warming, so it really shouldnt be a political issue. Even if the United States cut there pollution down to zilch most industrial third world countrys wont, and we would barely make a difference. As for the rainforest, do the math. Theres not nearly enough that has been cut down in comparison to the amounts of C02s to make much difference. Its not like some evil group of people are cutting it down to destroy humanity or anything, just small areas as needed.
