If the government were to legalize prostitution they might as well do away with the other laws that govern sexual behavior. What's next buggery law reform or the age of consent moved to 12? Rather let's focus on funding tertiary education for our young people and making employment available for them so we can have a better Jamaica. Educated people in a job won't have to prostitute themselves.

It's encouraged in society, and everywhere in "Dancehall" music. Murder is illegal right? Murder-rate is still high. There's no strong enforcement, and low education. Every Sunday churches are full of hypocrites. In a country that calls itself a "Christian nation". There's strong condemnation of (illegal) homosexuality. But adultery, and adulterers are accepted in society, and it's completely (legal). Even though it's condemned in the ten commandments, and the Biblical penalty for it is death. Fornication and violence is promoted in music, no one complains, and the Government allows it. I'm sure God can see it.

Many persons in prostitution face unsafe situations -health-wise, physically etc, having a structured system will decrease the safety hazards.

As often they are involved in illict activties and behaviours due to basic needs. Often without much thought for the consquence which may occur Much thought needs to be given to this if this were to become legal. Equally preventative measures would need to be put in place to deal with the aftermath which may occur.
