Posted By: Rob Posted On: Oct 25, 2004 Views: 788 | RE: Norinco 1887 Shotgun Copy I found and bought a 26inch Norinco 97. If you search for gun gallery there is a sight which links you to a dealer that sells them. So they do exist they are just hard as hell to find. I like the action and finish of the gun and it is a very good copy of the original but I stil like my old takedown 97 better, I just dont want to beat it up anymore on hunting trips. |

Posted By: Rob Posted On: Oct 26, 2004 Views: 783 | RE: Norinco 1887 Shotgun Copy I bought a 26inch Norinco 97 and I do notice that it has a better range than my Mossberg 500 20inch barreled shotgun even though the chocke is the same. It has a much better pattern at further ranges and more knockdown power. I have had many short barreled shotguns in the past but from experience I wont hunt with anything less than a 24inch. You can go to gallery of guns through google and it shows a 26inch norinco 97 for sale through a dealer. They do make them and they are out there and I have one to prove it. Of course the 20 inch and trench repros are more popular so thats why you always see them. |
Posted By: Delbert Koop Posted On: Nov 8, 2004 Views: 769 | RE: Norinco 1887 Shotgun Copy I have an original Winchester 1897 pump shotgun that I am thinking of selling. All original except for a recoil pad that was mounted years before I got it. According to the serial number is was made in 1912. |
Posted By: Wayne in Seattle Posted On: Dec 13, 2004 Views: 729 | RE: Norinco 1887 Shotgun Copy This past summer, I traded for a Wards Hercules 12 ga boxlock SxS with external hammers and 30" steel barrels that I intended to shorten to coach gun length. I've since decided to put it up for sale and let someone else do the job. I'm pretty certain that it's an Iver Johnson shotgun made for Montgomery Wards in the late 1920s or even the early 1930s. Very nice condition with a fair amount of case colors on the receiver and lots of blue remaining on the barrels. Open to offers. email: ws@eskimo.com (Seattle) |

Posted By: moto Posted On: Mar 21, 2006 Views: 312 | RE: Norinco 1887 Shotgun Copy I have a new one and it is rough. None of the parts have been hand worked. Everything in my gun has come right off the lathe or the milling machine. This one is not ready for CAS shooting right out of the box. however i have only seen one and there may be others that are better. Moto |
