As we open our boarders to immagrants let them enter in to our great countries but let them not change our heritage but assimilate into our society. Let us all learn from immagrants,their heritage,their customs but do not change what we belive and what we have built from the beginning of our great countries what we have died for, freedom, liberty and justice for all. In God we trust and let the immagrants share in our great heritage. Let us continue to enjoy today what our for fathers built yesterday. Stop changing our customs! |

We call ourselves "Americans" but isn't Canada part of America and Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Guatumala, Ecuador etc... We are the united states of america but we are located in North America (which most of the illiterate people who commented earlier probably don't even realize). Buy a dictionary, you just look stupid when you try to make a point and you can't spell better than a third grader. Here's a history lesson for all you people who obviously never took any college history classes. As stated by a previous person "our" country belonged to an the Native Americans for thousands of years before we (Europeans) came over and committed a little genocide. If any culture should be looked at as a pinnacle of society it should be the original inhabitants of this land, who knew how to live "with" the land not "on" it. Once we had killed 10's of millions of Native Americans we then we decided that we didn't want to work very hard so we started importing slaves. This was another genocidal act in its own right, since about 50-70 million slaves died in transport. However, this started a tradition that has endured through the centuries: exploitation of the poor and less fortunate. We exploited so many different people it is hard to keep track:(Mexican people, Chinese, Japanese, Cubans, most of South America and Africa, even some people in the middle east). Big business in this country is always looking for hard working cheap labor to exploit so they can make their billions. The worst part about it is that these companies that make the most money pay the least amount in taxes. They pay lawyers $750 an hour to find loopholes and keep their accounts off-shore to avoid paying what they rightfully owe. Freedom isn't free, you're damn well right we should be happy to pay for all that we have, clean drinking water, good infrastructure, miles and miles of roads...(because we have the worst public transportation system in the developed world). The bottom line is that these exploiting companies are running this country who do you think the pony-boy in charge answers to? Oil, Energy, and Drug Companies. We are all getting screwed and we are thanking them for it. Just keep watching your T.V. The media keeps us sedated while a bunch of racist, rich, old, white guys run the ship aground and get even richer in the process. A society is only as stronger as its weakest member. The top 1% control run the show and laugh as we all blame each other for the problems we face everyday. MOst people say the poor are lazy and they don't work hard enough. Well what they don't realize is that our society is set up to keep the poor in the slums. They have no opportunities especially if they are people of color. So we the middle-class(the silent majority) just sit back on our recliners watching reality T.V. and buying what they tell us to buy, being afraid of what they tell us to be afraid of. Arab-American's are now so demonized by the media that we don't care if their rights are taken away on a daily basis. Well enough ranting and raving, i'm probably just talking to myself now because most of the afore mentioned intellectually challenged individuals will not read past the first paragraph. We need to think about what we have a why we have it. We need to celebrate our diversity, the only way we are going to make it through this in one piece is if we educate ourselves and become culturally compentant. We the people of the U.S. have this insecurity issue, we need to be the best, no body can be better than us. Why is that? Who cares is there some competetion I am unaware of, or is it just a bunch of insecure frat boys who are living unfulfilling lives that need to have something to boast about because they are fat and stupid now. The world is made up of 6+ billion people, the population of the U.S. only makes up only 5% of the that. We are all in this together, and if we don't start thinking universally and collectively then we will go the way of the Romans (which is nothing to be proud of). ft |

It is time for America to stop this bull and stand for this great land and STOP letting these people trying to take over this land, if you are going to live in this land then respect it and our past and speak American. As the news said early today there is a marifa type group out there from south america that hands to take S. W. part of the United States and make it part of Mexico this needs to STOP KNOW. When you or I go to Japan, China, or any other country in this world do we tell them " you will speak my language and that is it " NO I don't think so. STOP THE BULL. |

I understand that in most countries, citizens are bi-lingual. But, here in the Unites States, with immigrants coming from all over the world, one would have to know many languages in order to communicate. This is NOT right. In order to be one nation, we all need a language we can all understand, and since at this time, English is our language here, and most of the world speaks English anyway, we need it for our basic language. Want to speak in your native tongue? Fine, just do not speak it to me, because I do not understand it. OK So I should learn Spanish? then what? Chinese? Then Viet Namese? Then German? Then Russian? Then ..... and it goes on and on and on WE NEED ONE SINGLE LANGUAGE. Not 100. As for those idiots who made comments about Rome being a nation: At one time, Rome WAS a nation. It controlled the world. That was when the statement "When in Rome, do as the Romans do", was made. Those idiots need to get an education. As far as people not spelling correctly, did you jerks ever think that we may be excellent spellers, but poor typists? We DO make typing errors you know. They are simply known as "typos" So you jerks, why not educate yourselves. |
