Lets spread the word!!!

Oh! I just got a cool idea! Everyone who reads this should tell someone else they know to read an Artemis Fowl book!!! I already got my BFF to put the books on her Christmas list! She said she read the first book but never read any other ones.
I am also trying to get my other BFF to read them. However, she is a lot harder to persude. Any helpful hints to persuade her? Thnx!!!! ;)

RE: Lets spread the word!!!

If your BFF is the kind of person who wouldn't usually read Artemis Fowl and the books besides then you need to introduce her to it while not giving ANYTHING away.
I was into medieval fantasy when a friend of mine who works at a library and grades books told me that I should read Artemis Fowl and explained to me JUST enough about the book to get me interested; now I'm hooked.

Here is a list of some things to do

1. Don't bring the topic up every time you see him/her (I badgered my sister to read a book a year ago and she still hasn't).

2. Bring the subject up naturally and DON'T EVER say, "You need to read Artemis Fowl!" because then he/she will feel pressured and won't want to make a decision.

3. Nagging doesn't help, it hurts.

4. Make sure she/he is in a good mood and NOT stressed or she/he might just say "NO!" without listening to what your saying.

5. If your friend is trying hard at a school assignment or is in a theatre group and overwhelmed by the work he/she is getting from there wait until the chaos dies down a bit before bringing up the book.

6. Don't give anything away that was said beyond the third chapter in the book because then she'll/He'll feel that she knows the plot already and won't be interested in reading it.

7. Don't blurt out the facts from the novel until she/he is finished or it ruins the whole story for them (I accidentally did that before).

8. When you get the book into his/her hands don't ask them every time you meet, "Did you read it yet?" because though you might be a quick reader it might not be the same case with your friend. My advice is to wait a minimum of two weeks before bringing up the subject.

Thats all I can think of right now so I hope that these tips help you make a firm fan out of your BFF. Good Luck!!!
