| Posted By: Nicole Posted On: May 17, 2007 Views: 273 | Real Info on the Movie The movie rights were bought even before Artemis Fowl 1 came out, so that's seven years in the making. I was beginning to think that it would never come out. However, unless Eoin Colfer has been lied to I was wrong. Jim Sheridan (oscar nominated) and Simon Carmody are working on the screenplay. In an e-mail from Eoin Colfer to AFC: Wed, December 27, 2006 12:10pm "Regarding various developments - the movie is going ahead quickly now - I worked on a treatment for the story with Oscar winning director Jim Sheridan and writer Simon Carmody and Jim is now working on the screenplay. The story is mainly the first book but with a few huge surprises. If Hollywood tells you to do whatever you want... well I couldn't turn that offer down, so expect new adventures." They hope to start production this summer, though I'm not sure if I trust anyone anymore when it comes to this movie. |
