Our Monochrome Monarch, Dr. Chin, has made the following additions to his site of World Domination. Nothing of particular interest really. Feel free to have a brief look at Chin's mundane monochrome shennanigans, but you'd have to be a johnny foreigner to do so. The White House will propose an increase in funding for space exploration that will mostly include vast perks for the oil, insurance, logging and pharmaceutical industries. 5. It was a stunt by the liberal media to take the focus away from the Presidents new and improved Desert Storm Part Deux. 6. This would not have happened if the crew of the shuttle had all been carrying handguns. 7. A prominent Christian leader will announce that it was Gods way of punishing gays and lesbians for the moral decay of the U.S. and averting us away from the teachings of Jesus (especially the passages that concern use of the crotch). 8. Republicans will carry around debris from the shuttle as they run for re-election. 9. Americans can best help the grieving families by shopping and driving around in their cars. 10. Conservatives will conclude it was Clintons fault! |

I think that you missed the point. What I did was a commentary of how the right wing uses a tragedy like this to advance their agenda. It is not hard to see how they have used the terrorist attack on the Twin Towers to convince people that they must surrender their rights for a false sense of security and to allow them the wholesale profiteering of such tragedies both financially and politically. And, Mr. Lizard, I also find it interesting your line that the reason the shuttle went down is because a woman was flying it may more speak to your own thoughts about this event, and the thoughts of the people around you. It is funny how I was tempted to add an extra item to my list: 11. Those who favor the above items will use the tragedy as an excuse to censor the opposition. Thank you for making this point for me. Sure , back to the 50's and 60's !!! Lets just drop it all now huh ? A total shock seeing what happened to those good people . You didn't have to be American to feel sorrow , it happened to the others who were of other nationalities & it happened in the past and sadly will happen again . Thats the thing about space travel and other things we think we know about . We are still learning and the mistakes we learn from unfortunatly take lives. All those onboard knew of what could have happened and the rest of the world as well. When it does happen it sucks , but you gotta move on and try and use it as dedication and rememorance for the future. Nasa will go on and always will. It sickens me to see sites like aol , yahoo and others that question it once you log on . As if their input matters ? Who are they to judge or question ? Why don't they just stick to Joe Millionare (the bondage guy) who seems to get pleanty of press and "breaking news" even on the television . Lets not forget we've only begun with space exploration .Its one thing you get into an accident in a car or on a plane ... but , they were in a friggin space shuttle which isn't and hasn't been the most reliable & safest way to travel (yet). Shuttles go up (correct me if I'm wrong) almost every few months if not more since the 80's . 2 major disasters out of about 100 plus isn't so bad , but its not good either . Correct the mistakes and get em back up there ... theres people still up in those space stations & theres a vast universe out there to explore!!! I'll go up there in a heartbeat . I'll take the little chap from that teen rock group that was suppose to go. Today they allow just about anyone to go up there and maybe someday it could be one of us or your kids or grandkids. To stop it all would be more of a disaster. My thoughts and prayers to the families of the "heros" yes , I shedded tears watching the ceremony , but quickly gathered myself as anyone else should do and logged onto Dragon films and felt a hell of a lot better : ) (nanu nanu) JSK |
