Imagine that? I remember laughing at Polypus on Hoffas bored when he called the Yankee wimmins soccer victory a 'seminal event' in sports. Yah, right. Dream on, Captain Empowerment. Legion is right again. Oh, the pain, the pain. Just once I would like to be proven wrong about something/anything by you knuckledraggers. The truth is, I don't know why anyone would watch any wimmins 'sport' - It's like watching midgets wrestle...an amusing side-show novelty perhaps, but utimately dull. Now it's true that I don't watch or follow any 'sport' at all but still let's face facts, wimmin should stick to the only sport they do best: Rasklin. Soccer league finally flops |

They could have saved a few bucks and had em run around topless. You'd save atleast 10-20 bucks on shirts and just think of the crowd you'd always get to watch ! PPV ratings would sore (even surpass a Jerry Springer special!) Leege ... hate to tell ya , but soccor really isn't as big here in the states as it is in other countries. You know the countries where the fans end up beating the tar out of each other in their drunkin stuipers ! Or in the countries where they shoot or stab a goalie for not saving the game . No, it began more popular when the portuguese and spanish came into town. In my school growning up the soccor team was made up of about 2 Murkins to 50 port-a-gee's . To me they only allowed the sport so people wouldn't bitch that their school which also taught bi-lingual didn't have (pass a que) soccor ! Its not even like they paid any extra and infact the "sports" league of our school at the time allowed most of the "non-American's" not to pay slipping the bill to the American jocks parents ? You see the illegals and green carders even got a free ride on that issue ! But ... What do you expect from a sport that American's haven't caught onto yet ? And once again the cuts go directly towards the women . But hey , its better than not supporting a sport than beating your wive(s) or killing them like you can in other countries. Do what the Brits do when they come here. Organize it themselves. Thats what they do with their form of "football". And I agree with ya Leege that midget wrestling is fun to watch to an extent. But I have complete confidence that Congress will pass legislation making the purchase of a ticket at women's athletic event tax deductible, or the FCC will force TV networks to provide air time, or that some "forward" thinking college will add mandatory attendance at such events as a requirement for graduation. Institutional coercion or subsidy is the only way women's sports will survive. It just doesn't have the market appeal. And by the way.......... REPEAL TITLE IX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Just imagine the attendance numbers even for intramural houseleagues featuring 'shirts vs skins'. Make it t-shirts. Or, tiny undershirts sprayed down with baby oil and water? Yah, that's the ticket. Wimmin sport could be successful if only they knew how to market it correctly. |

Christ , look around this wonderful world we live in and see what people do for money already . And as for entertainment ? To me thats exactly what it would be : )~ And lets face it . To be a real sport there would need to be some pushing and shoving . A few slaps and hairpulls wouldn't hurt either . JSK |
