Hoffa's Bored

Hey, when did Barb come up with the feature to list a poster's real name as part of their profile?

Want to know someone's real name? You're just one click away.

I'm with Fonz. No more posting there for me. I like my anonymity.

Try putting Jabroni's real name into a search engine. You'll find that he's for real.

RE: Hoffa's Bored

Hi Bear:

I just checked one of your posts over there. All I see when I click on your name is your user name and number of posts (11)

Then I clicked on one of my posts, and clicked my name. It shows my user name, number of posts, and a "hot" link to edit my profile. When I clicked on that, it shows my email address, (which also has a box to check if you want to hide it from users..which I did) and the other info, such as real name, (which I never gave, because it wasn't required) homepage, etc.

I might be completely wrong, but I believe you are the only one who can get to the edit page from your name. You might want to check that "edit" link, and remove your real name.

Let me know if that works.

RE: Hoffa's Bored

The sad part, Bear, is that Barb herself noted about two years ago that "flames" could escalate ino "real world violence" and noted a certain "Claude" from Montreal or something as a potential problem.
Just for arguments sake, let's say that Jabroni really IS a wrestler on the indy circuit, all 'roided up. Or that he is some loser who works for the LA Dept of P&R (btw, where one works or how much one makes does NOT make him/her a loser; the fact that he bragged so much about it does); again, I don't know if he's just a goofy kid, a gang-banger wannabe or just some smuck who likes to hit people from behind.
See, as hot and heavy as it gets here, I'm never gonna be anyone's problem. Fact is, I feel graced that I'm still alive. I believe the vast majority here, even the goofs, the 'smokers', the weirdos and so forth...hey, they're all cool & feel the same way, I'm sure.
I just don't want to be nor would I want to see someone play Allan Berg (murdered Talk Host) to someones neo-Nazi personas.
Could it happen? Probably not. Maybe not. But there's a lot of folks out there that may truly come off as one thing on the net and something altogether different in real life. The reality, too, is that the baddest ass here might as well be Charles Nelson Reilly if staring down the cylendar of a gun.
Barb made a big mistake, imho.

RE: Hoffa's Bored

Thanks Spence. I'll give it a try. Still, I'm very uncomfortable with a person being able to access my email, let alone my personal ID. I understand Barb's concern about flames becoming real world violence as ATF mentions. In fact, that's why I'm not happy. My students tell me that they can track an email to the address from which it's written. They're much more savy than I and know how to use hacker software and such. That's a major concern, particularly if some loose cannon like Jabroni (Shane) can do the same.

As far as Jabroni's identity goes, let me tell you this story. After reading his post below that he worked an independent show last weekend in "Oakland." I thought, "Here's my chance to unmask the mysterious (and obnoxious) one." So, I go to the websites of the two local independent promotion companies, both of whom I'm familiar. Lo and behold one of them had a show last weekend, only it was in Lathrop which is a town about 50 miles east of Oakland. I looked at the card and recognized the name of all the "regulars" in the company. Then I took the names of the other wrestlers and one by one put them into a search engine. The name Shane Kody yielded a wealth of information about this wrestler's career AND it matches the profile that Jabs has presented about himself to a Tee. I think, "Bear, you've done it. You're the Sherlock Holmes of the Internet!. No IPC's, no IPO's, no UFO's just your brain and a search engine." Then I go over to Barb's board today and see that all you have to do to get someone's name is click on their handle. Boy do I feel like a supreme schmuck.

Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Hope you got a laugh at my expense.

RE: Hoffa's Bored

The can of worms is open! Now almost anyone can discover that Legion is none other than Sven Jolly, atheist, resident in Windsor, Ontario. The jovial Cat Daddy is known in real life as Jack F. Maxwell Jr. from New Orleans. Their addresses and phone numbers can be ferreted out fairly easily from this information.

The question is...who cares? The only people frequenting this board (and Hoffa's) do so because of "our interest".

If anonymity is important to members of "our community", let them lurk as I have done for years.

RE: Sherlock Bear hehehe

Actually, Bear, I had already followed this creep and I can tell everyone here that he had a match in Lathop, CA., as you say, on 11/15, wrestling with some guy called "Big Ugly," tag team match that they 'won.' w/o going into great "detail", ol' Shane just might have a real problem on his hands, and soon.
Anyway, Marty wasn't really "wrong" when he said that he wasn't what he said he was. Oh, Shane may wrestle on some goofy Indy Circuit (fact: a female relative of mine went out with and lived ith a "pro" wrestler for several years...big deal), but I'd bet on him also working for the city or whatever.
Anyway, I have a lot more info on him than he'll ever have on me and I'm keeping it that way.
I'll leave it there for now.

See, it's like this. I just generally trust people. Yep, even Murkins. So I don't try to hide anything, even though I know enough about computers to hide if I wanted to, I just don't want to. I don't care. I would have my email address up there if I weren't already getting 30 spams a day. What's there to be afraid of? I'll tell ya what - Nothing.
Stalkers and nuts? They're over-rated, like viruses, big scary nothing. More annoying than anything else.

I still don't use a virus scanner either. Had one virus since Win95. Big deal - format c:

Canadians are like that, we leave our doors open. But if you come in looking to do us harm we'll pull out our shotgun with the sawed off barrel we did ourselves at machine shop, 20 guage featherlight auto full of 00Buckshot with the plug removed, that we keep loaded all the time except for the chamber, and turn your head into shredded wheat you worthless piece o' schit.

Or so I've heard.

Hamboni seemed to me to know quite a bit about rasklin. I don't really care what he says he is or what other people say he is, I make my own judgements, thanks alot. He's also a jerkoff artist on the Net but then so am I.

I'm not surprised by your investigation Bear. For every Hulk Hogan there must be thousands of flunky Iron Mike Sharpes.

RE: Hoffa's Bored

I know its totally farfetched (wink wink, nudge nudge), but there is the possibility that this guy posting as Jabroni is only "borrowing" Shane Kody's identity. The thing that struck me as odd is that the picture posted of him on those sites makes him look relatively young. And I know it could be an old picture, but isn't he holding one of those crappy indy belts in one of them? Anyway, he talked about that "All the Marbles" fiasco and said he was either a consultant or the producers rented his ring or something to that effect. Wouldn't he have been about 13 years old when that movie came out? Perhaps he was a child prodigy or something. But it wouldn't take any great effort to update one's rap with info off those wrestling sites to make oneself look legitimate. Just a thought.

RE: Hoffa's Bored

Well leege, I respect your opinion. I really do. Just remember, though: I'm a lot closer to this looney-tune and Bear lives in the prick's 'hood!
Now, discretion being the better part of valor, I see no reason - NONE WHATSOEVER - in letting this zero know anything about me.
Would he do anything in real life? Most likely not. If he is this Kody guy (and yes, mikey, I've pondered over his age all along...he said he was turning 40 last Spring, so if that's true it cancels out the "All The Marbles" b.s.) and I were to ever see him, I'd be very cautious, however. But that's just me.
Ae we paranoid here in the states? Probably. Guess it comes with the territory...

RE: Hoffa's Bored

I particularly liked Legion's statment about Canadians leaving their doors open, but being ready and willing to use their saw-offed shotguns on potential harm-doers. That may be true in Canada, and maybe I should move there. It isn't true here in sunny California.

Here, a person can break into your house, rape and murder your wife, murder you, steal all of your belongings, then trip on a crack in your driveway on his way out and sue your estate for negligence. What more could any self-respecting, voting criminal ask for? Maybe Mark Geragos and Johnny Cochran.

Anyway, who cares? Cal thumped Stanfurd and is headed for some minor bowl. I may be spending a few days in Arizona at, what is it? The Insight Bowl???? Back-to-back winning seasons in Berkeley. Hard to believe.

You're coming here, Bear! Wow! Cal is heading to Tempe, eh? Cool.
You'll love it here. Highways are clogged from the 'snowbirds', smog hanging over the city, illegals as far as the eye can see.
Not unlike 'home', eh?
Congrats & you, my friend, are always welcome to share a coffee & begal at the best li'l tree hugging coffee shop in the west. Just write to 'alfonsothefan@webtv.net' & lemmee prove it to ya...

RE: Hoffa's Bored

Well, I agree with Legion. I DO trust most people until they furk me over, then I don't deal with them anymore. I figure it's their lost, not mine.

I really have nothing to hide. If anyone sends a virus to my computer, so be it. I mean, it's just the internet. Back in the early 80's, I was worrying about viruses. Of course, I was nailing everything I could get my pee pee into...I mean, I'm talking women ATF wouldn't even screw. Ahhhhh...those were the days..

So, if Barb, or Jabroni, or anyone else wants to come after me on my puter, and confiscate, they will find some fem wrestling clips, some bets I made (purely for recreational purposes) on baseball and football, and lots of garbage.

I mean, s h i t , how 'bout the Pats? Of course, the spread was 4.5 at game time, they won by 3 in overtime.....now 9 and 2...of course i'm happy they won...but..never mind. I lost a c on that game. Actually a c and a 10...for Mr Vig.

And one more Michael Jackson joke for ATF, before I go to bed...

Santa Barbara Sheriffs Dept has released Michael Jacksons Mug Shot..with pic

Michael Jackson: 5/11 120 pounds
The reason he's so skinny is he's been eating off the kiddy menu for 20 yrs now.

RE: Hoffa's Bored

Hehehe, you guys...
Spence, you hear the one about "How do you know Michael J's been having a party?...
By the tricycles in the front yard."
"Michael may think he's 'Peter Pan' but it's the parents who are in 'Neverland.'"
"Newer, better updated versions of his greatest 80's hits such as: 'Billie Jean is not my lover....but Tommy Mack, Johnny and Otis are'"
Leege, thought you were gonna add: Hitler was the only one who had actually ever BEEN in a war. hehehe...
later,
