Shrubbery Mission II

Legion's irreverent pic, which seems to have ****ed off several people, reminds me of an old joke which can be updated to fit the present circumstances.

President Dubya: "Mission Control, I'm strapped in, everything is A-OK. What do you want me to do."

Mission Control: "All we want you to do Mr. President is sit tight and answer the phone when the red light flashes."

President Dubya: "Roger"

One hour after lift off, a green light flashes. The monkey unstraps himself, gets up, and flips a few switches. He sits back down and straps himself back in.

Another hour passes, and a yellow light flashes. The money unstraps himself, gets up, pushes a few buttons and turns a few dials. He sits back down and straps himself back in.

Another hour passes, and a blue light flashes. The monkey unstraps himself, gets up, pulls a few levers and flips another switch. He sits back down and straps himself back in.

Finally, the red light flashes. The Prez eagerly jumps up, grabs the phone and asks, "What do I do?"

Mission Control: "Feed the monkey!"

RE: Shrubbery Mission II

Hehehe...pretty good, Bear-o-matic.
Ah, who exactly didn't like the pic?

Oh, the joke reminded me of the scene I saw the other night. Some nitwit got up on stage, grabbed a mic, shouted out the names of a bunch of states....

Anyway, later, he went crackers!
Looked like a lunatic!

He Went: aaaahhhhhhhyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! !!!!!

You really shoulda seen it.

The future: We'll be led by a guy who can't say nuclear & loves illegal aliens or a loon who practices big gummint and medicine or a guy who looks like Lurch, votes like Teddy K and is still telling us how much Vietnam sucked.
Or, we could elect another hillbilly lawyer who's made millions by suing corporations and pocketing his spoils.

I fear for the future.

RE: Shrubbery Mission II ( the wrath of Hal)

Hey Bear ....

I don't think Leege ****ed anyone off ? The only ones that said anything negative was me , Fonz and T-100 . And it wasn't even from what he actually said its more just because ..... well ofcourse it was him that said it ! Believe me I was laughing all right.

Now what I truely enjoyed was Dio's comments in red he pasted under each and every Leege masterpeice which read -

[From Dio] Well it would help if you actually put some HTML code in that message above you absent minded mung freak nincompoop!!!

Tehehe Mung freak

When I looked into your message above to see why your HTML didn't work, I discovered there wasn't actually any HTML in there to start with you big girl's blouse!

I have done you the favour of inserting the appropriate HTML... you forest loon!

Bloody amateurs!

Now to me thats true humor ! BIG GIRLS BLOUSE !?!?! What the F does that mean ?
(LOL) Its almost as funny as when Leege calls people NANCY's ! Humor at its finest!
Witty . The stuff my wife hates that I like.
Infact I even showed her the red coded message and although she didn't think it was funny at first she's now calling me a forest loon !
She didn't get the "big girls blouse" thing , but still laughed . Ta ... women !?
Was kinda cool having her giggle along with me here for a bit .
Basically she never read anything from this board til now and ofcourse I only showed her Dio's comments and now she thinks we are all abunch of monkies !!! Ok , she used other words but it was all good .
she actually liked Bears/your joke though.

Alrighty , from what I'm seeing in the president is that he's getting to be a rush into it kinda guy . I'd like to know how long he dated Mrs. Bush before he proposed ?
1 hour , 1 week maybe ? He is getting awfully gun-hoe about things no matter what they are .

I can understand war , killing and maiming , but I just don't understand sending us to the old red angry planet !

Good one Bear !

RE: fark em

Here ya go boneheads, from fark.com.

Things you have to believe to be a Republican today.

1. Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. Then it's an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery.

2. The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our highest national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions against Iraq.

3. Government should relax regulation of Big Business and Big Money but crack down on individuals who use marijuana to relieve the pain of illness.

4. "Standing Tall" for America means firing your workers and moving their jobs to India.

5. A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation.

6. Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton.

7. The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay.

8. Group-sex and drug-use are degenerate sins unless you someday run for governor of California as a Republican.

9. If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex.

10. A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time allies, then demand their cooperation and money.

11. HMOs and insurance companies have the interest of the public at heart.

12. Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy. Providing health care to all Americans is socialism.

13. Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but creationism should be taught in schools.

14. Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden" diversion.

15. A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense. A president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is solid defense policy.

16. Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet.

17. The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades, but George Bush's driving record is none of our business.

18. You support states' rights, which means Attorney General John Ashcroft can tell states what local voter initiatives they have a right to adopt.

19. What Bill Clinton did in the 1960s is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the 1980s is irrelevant.

20. Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony.

RE: Shrubbery Mission II

Ahhh, couldn't have said it better myself! They will have to add to the list to include the Mars "diversion" (nice smoke and mirrors)... the Halliburton corruption, which makes any shady Arkansas land deals pale in comparison... and the BRILLIANT immigration amnesty Bush is trying to push through to ace the Latino vote. The Bush Administration is the biggest bunch of blatant hypocrites to ever come down the pike. When the WHOLE story about the Iraq War comes out (and it's already starting to), I think history will label Dubya as one of our sorriest, most misguided Presidents. Of course, he needs four more years to REALLY screw things up. He'll probably get it, sadly enough, because he's now shamelessly using fear as one of the prime motivators for electing him again. Insofar as the Dems, I think it will come down to a Kerry/Edwards ticket, and that would be a great race! Kerry, or Edwards for that matter, would slaughter Bush in a debate.

But then, there's always....(drum roll please)

RE: Shrubbery Mission II

So. You say that like it's a bad thing. You rationalists are all locked up with that "reason" thing. Conservatives are free to hold multiple conflicting opinions -- a freedom you shall never enjoy.

That's religious folk for ya. They flock to the Republican party like skinheads to a klan rally. The Shrub speaks to Gawd, presumably on the bat-phone? Asscroft is a fundy lunatic. I mean really - if you can convince yourself to believe in religion, then you can rationalize anything." (me)

Dostoyevsky had it wrong.

Buncha morons, you gotta drag them kicking and screaming into the 21st century before they blow us all up fulfilling some bronze age prophesy.

RE: Shrubbery Mission IIX

1. Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host. Then it's an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery.

Or an actor/actress and make more than 100 k a year .

2. The United States should get out of the United Nations, and our highest national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions against Iraq.

Once again the UN blows and is useless in this day and age . Everyone claims the UN was created for the USA to reek power on others ? Its deminishing it and bias towards us . You Canadian clowns can stay in it though .

3. Government should relax regulation of Big Business and Big Money but crack down on individuals who use marijuana to relieve the pain of illness.
Or for those who just wanna get high.
How many people died from smoking it ? How many are addicted to it ? Be smart & legalize .

4. "Standing Tall" for America means firing your workers and moving their jobs to India.
Or work with all the indian's at the 7/11 . To say we are not nice to forigners is a line of BS . Just look at what happened . I'll never hire a forigner ... unless she has huge tits .

5. A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without regulation.
I guess Roe vs Way like PEACE was a thing of the past . We change too often to the obligation of others . Its a selfish world.
Lets worry more about our selves then .
Abortion still should not be a method of birth control , but it also shouldn't be a
punishment for a mom or a kid . Depending on the circumstances is it still ok to kill ?

I was in a low math group through out school
so I'll only start with the first 5 .
Also due to my well known babble I'll spare you all .

RE: Shrubbery Mission II

ROUGH AND STUFF WROTE :
I think it will come down to a Kerry/Edwards ticket, and that would be a great race! Kerry, or Edwards for that matter, would slaughter Bush in a debate.

......................

Lets put it this way . Kerry isn't or wasn't the most popular guy here in Massachusetts .
Infact , he's done just about nothing for this state but watch it go down the tubes like the rest of them here .

Its funny how he's proclaimed EDUCATION is key and a big importance ? In the past 30 plus years hasn't that seemed to be the "promise" EVERY president has made ?
Nothing has changed . Kerry's state (where I live as well) isn't and hasn't been doing so good with education or any type of reform .
Take a drive into Boston some day and look at any school . If its not a private one they will be run down and dirty . Prison like.

Not that its totally a congress problem though . They can get out of a lot of national spending with education because its all individual states who run their school systems . Thats the biggest problem .
Sure some are federally funded , but for some reason congress just doens't see putting the money into it although they say they care . So the lesser amounts the states get they use their own way . Its hard to work with a small budget and not everyone gets a peice of the pie .

So if you believe Kerry don't believe him on that issue . Also don't believe him when the man talks about taxes . I've paid more taxes than Willy Nelson . Wise guy can back me up on this one .

Plus ! John Kerry looks like HEAT MYSER from those X-MAS specials . YOu know the crappy stop motion clay guys . I think its heat myser or one of those weird looking toads .

I like Edwards but he's got no chance in the north and thats where we are at today . After this lashing he'll get you'll see his figures drop to a Leiberman level .

Sad to say Bush will rip Kerry a new A-hole .
You really think GW doesn't know what he's gonna try and go after him about ? Bush has pleanty to make Kerry look just as bad .
Its too soon to tell and too far from the actual election for Kerry to do anything but be himself .... & lose .
Although I do like the man .

I swear this is it for me and this post : )

I forget where Bear is from , but ask him how his school system is . Ask him hows its been and who's made a better mark on them since being president ?
Is he happy with his pay ? I'm sure he's happy teaching and it sounds like he is , but in the last 10 years you hear alot about how most teachers don't make squat unless they've been doing it for 30 plus years or close to retirement .
Is that any way to pay our people who teach or kids in their most important times of learning ?

How safe is our schools ? What condition are they in ? How many kids can spell their own name ? (ok , no jokes about me!)

RE: Shrubbery Mission II

All we'll be hearing about between now and November is the damn election (I'm already sick of it)! Although I can't wait to see Kerry or Edwards grill Bushie hard on the Iraq mess and the missing WMDs (God knows the Dems have a lot of ammo, if they've got sense enough to use it). Unless Bush gets A LOT of coaching, he's going to look like a total idiot in the debates. This is a guy who doesn't have a firm grasp on the English language when he's at a podium all by himself. I mean, he didn't exactly set the woods on fire debating Gore (and, well, it was GORE)! Is it just me or does Dubya seemingly always sound wasted, with that especially slurred Texas drawl of his?

Why can't there be some hot babes running for something? Maybe someday, in our lifetime, two fiery women will go at it on the campaign trail. It would be fun to see two women get down and dirty with the mud slinging. I bet you they could get nastier than the men ever could...talk about the ultimate catfight.

My major concern at the moment is just when the hell Bob's next video is coming out! I certainly believe in building a little suspense, but people are going to give up on the damn thing!

RE: Ah yes, Mr. 'Anti-Reason'

leege, this boreds fear factor in 21st century lingo, going where only fools rush in...
Perhaps we should just "blow ourselves up" for some 21st century reason? Hehehe...
Yep, you really should read some of the stuff you write. It's priceless. Insane/inane. But priceless.
Notice the far left NEVER mentions Stalin, Pol Pot or Rev Jim Jones. Or, UBL. Instead, we have to keep hearing that boring chant/rant of "Bush sucks."
Perhaps Lurch as Prez and Dennis K (Thing) as VP? Happy?
You rang?! Ohhhhh
