I saw it

I saw the movie when it was in New York. It received very limited release in the US. I'm certain you never had a chance to miss it.

I actually posted a very long review of the movie/fight on Barb's board awhile back. I'm certain that it's fallen off by now.

The fight was very realistic...therefore it was not the sexiest thing your've ever seen. It was in truth, quite brutal. I believe both women were dressed in evening wear, as they were attending a party that evening. Gina Gershon surprises the other woman who had broken into Gina's hotel room to steal corporate secrets.

Gershon sees an intruder in the shadows and tries to call on the phone for help. The other woman, terrified that she will be discovered, has no choice to attack her. The fight is a desparate scrambling fight. I'm certain that they succeeded in capturing how the fight would have occurred under those circumstances between real women. It was mostly in shadow, with the women struggling and rolling around in some obscurity. I'm certain hair was pulled, but punches were thrown, glass broken and used as a weapon...quite serious. You can tell that there is a life and death struggle occurring.

At one point Gershon escapes across the hall to a lighted room. When the other woman gets there it's obvious that Gershon is hurt badly with cut to the neck. The ending of the fight is ambiguous...first you think that Gershon has died, then she crashes something on the head of the other woman and all goes black. When the woman wakes, she is back in here room, clean and in bed. Gershon's room and the one across the hall are clean and perfectly in order. It's like the fight never took place. Someone had obviously come in and cleaned up the whole thing. Shortly thereafter the woman sees a film of the fight....it was secretly filmed, and forced by blackmail to engage in some very interesting activities.

At this point the movie takes on a dream like quality where reality blurs with fantasy. The strong willed woman who fought Gershon is forced to take part in various sexual fetish situations where people actually see her live while she is chased or bound and spanked, etc. By the end of the movie she has become a reality show sex slave essentially...everything she does and experiences is viewed live by people via the company's internet website. It is implied, at least to me, that the fight with Gershon was the first of her many "assignments", where she was pitted against another woman and filmed for people to view live.

While the fight was brutal for my tastes, the whole contrast between this woman's strong personality and Gershon's as well made the beginning of the movie sexy. There was a buildup to their fight. However, the movie seems to revel in the fact that this strong woman is forced to bend to the will of others. By the end of the movie, when looking back at the fight, their fight has the feeling of them being merely puppets, controlled by others, pitted against each other like slaves for the pleasure of others.

The clip that Dio shoes is very good, and it highlights another part of a female rivalry in the film. Cloe Sevingy, the girl with the gun, was the lowly and meek assistant to the woman driving the car. At the beginning of the movie she was her slave, essentially. By the end of the movie she had the other woman bending to her will and doing anything she wanted. It may be inferred that she may have set up the fight and the ensuing sexual assignments the woman received. There was no actual physical fight between the two women, and the scene that Dio posted was not the scene of the fight in question.

My apologies for referring to the one fighter as "the woman". I can't remember her name off-hand and I must get going. She was the female star of "Gladiator" with Russell Crow, interestingly. To be clear, the fight in the movie was between her and Gina Gershon.

Yes, yes...quite interesting!

After hearing sporatic snippets about this flick here and there, this thread prompted me to read some reviews (all of which make reference to the "astounding" catfight). It actually sounds like an interesting film for many reasons. It just so happened it was released on DVD yesterday, so I ordered a copy!

Cancel your order trust me!!!!!

I've seen lots and lots of Catfights, and this ain't a very good Catfight, my review;

""Well I think this so called catfight would only appeal to those who enjoy the likes of "Battle Babes" "Sleepy Realm" or any of the Necro Babe Death Sites.

1- The ladies are both dressed in pants and shirts, although fairly tight
2- There is little to no lighting in the room, so you can barely see the action which has a lot of close ups of grimacing faces and just general confusion.
The ladies could have been simply chasing each other around the room, and pushing each others face into the camera every so often... for all you could see.

If you liked the fight in "Two Days in the Valley" you will be pretty disappointed in the fight of "Demonlover".....at the very end the only clear sceen is that of one combabtant suffocating the other with a pillow, in the wash room....Fellows that go for the asphixiation smother stuff will love it.
Oh ya lots of ketchup for the blood lovers :)

As for the Movie plot, it is pretty fanciful to say the least. Anime is a big seller in Japan and even with the advent of the internet, the big thing is the serial numbered Anime XXX Comic book collection that many Japanese Men trade in. Some kind of flash 3D program as depicted in the Movie already exists, but by and large the real 3D trade is still with ol fashion Anime Porn comics and magazines, and to be very honest they all look the same to me LOL

SO even the plot of Demonlover is a bit Fanciful...people would definitely not be killing each other over a Flash 3D program, Porn Anime "Comic book" from the 50's ... maybe... Porn is more of an acceptable main stream Art form in Japan. They would probably have a good laugh over this Movie, in Japan.
I can't believe how they got two main stream Actresses to play in this total schlock""
