Is it just me?

or does anyone else think Catdaddy is a blabbering idiot? He has presented himself as an expert on catfight rules and who is the best fighter. Add to this his ****poor sense of humor, and you've got a serious bandwidth-bandit. His latest antics over at the Crystal board sicken me.

There's a big dif...

...between sayin' a lot and a lot of sayin'.

No, I don't think Jack is going overboard. All I read of Jack's comments is what he says on Barb's Board, since, among other boards of similar subjects, I don't have much time to go to them. I will say that he seems to have a LOT of salient points on whatever examples, descriptions, genres, participants, events, contests, expectations, or other analyses he posts about. Look, he's apparently a VERY dedicated fan, and, when you have as much to go on as he does, I suppose someone like that CAN give a helluva lot of opinions and angles. Now, nothing wrong with that and, if you're following the fem-vs-fem scene like he does, I suppose you'd WANT to tell what you know. Obviously you yourself don't find much benefit in what he says, but there are probably others, not possessing his insights, that do derive benefit. All I know as far as Crystal and Minc go is apparently he DOES have very good grounds for commenting on those. I don't read Crystal's board very often (but I DO often go to its Website), and, if they think Jack's reviews are worth posting, he must be good at what he's sayin' for those. From his posts on Barb's Board, I have to give Jack a lot of credit for being so AWARE of everything. His mind is constantly lookin' at so many comparisons and contrasts, it's unbelievable how in the hell he thinks of it all.

CatDaddy just takes all this a lot more intensely than probably most people do.

Look at it this way: When you really enjoy doin' something, you really don't think about how others might view WHAT you're doin', you just enjoy DOIN' it.

RE: Is it just me?

Like Tangler, I don't think Jack's an idiot either. I once did, however. What convinced me that he's on the level is the extent to which he collects catfight memorabilia -- I mean the guy's incredible -- everything from matchbox covers to old time photos. I get the impression that his house (or apartment) is like a catfight museum. Also, the reviews that he writes on Crystal's Vid Mags are well written and informative. To put it succinctly, CD is really, really into the FvF scene, sometimes to the point of overzealousness.

Now, he has been known to melt down, and I, and others, have needled him about that. Since then he seems to have brought that kind of behavior under control. Also, I appreciate the fact that he's cognizant of my particular pleasure and has gone out of his way to put me onto some vids that I would (and did) appreciate and purchase. You can't knock that! Right??

RE: Is it just me?

Okay, I couldn't let this one go. The Maestro has graced us with another one of his gems of wisdom.

"big difference between sayin' a lot and a lot of sayin"?

Say what? Your waves are not reaching my shores, babbleface.

C rap Pappy? If he's acting up again just slap him around a bit or give him a time out and he'll straighten right up. He gets juiced into an obnoxious drunk in the evenings when he posts, tomorrow he'll wake up and wonder if he said anything particularly stupid to embarass himself last night.

He does seem to go on a bit too long

on things. He puts the fan in fanatic and seems to regale a little bit too much in watching women get beat up. I guess we all are a little sick for watching people fight and getting off on it, but he makes a connection between womens' fighting ability and willingness to brawl with their character that is disturbing. It's like there is a problem with a woman if she does not want to fight. The CatDaddyJack does seem to have a very strong grasp on the hierarchy of femfighting, at least in his own mind. He's come up with all kinds of rules and what moves are involved and what should and shouldn't be called a catfight. I'm sorry he doesn't have anything better to do. Oh yeah, and as far as Legion's reference to Scat Pappy's drinking, he claims he doesn't drink or smoke or do drugs. Yikes, that would have at least given him an excuse...

Yours in catfighting,

Wiseguy

RE: Is it just me?

He seemed to REALLY tick off Bab's a few weeks ago. Anyone catch any of that? CD has seemed to be hanging out there a lot more since that happened, perhaps trying to "make nice".

He seems like an alright guy..perhaps a little more obsessed than we are (which is scary). He does seem very knowledgable, but many of his posts are SO long that I simply can't trudge through them. I'm a fan too, but I'm simply not into it that much! I bet his place looks like the "Ripley's Believe it or Not" of catfighting!

RE: Is it just me?

Like you guys, I think CD/Jack EXPOUNDS on his fetish a little much. iow, yeah, I think that many people have an insatiable longing for this item/subject or whatever, but the Cat Daddy is the type that has to -- just HAS TO -- involve us too.
I'm thinking of how the now retired Scotty Bowman of hockey fame would live & breath the game, astutely understanding all of the nuances. Bill Bellicheck, the Dallas Tuna and Red Aurbach are others in sports lore that, it has been said, quite literally have spent countless hours describing the various moves and such -- to THEIR PLAYERS! Bowman, for example, would often spout out in French and English what he wanted done. But ya know what? In English I don't need to know the proper way to check some smuck into the boards. I don't need to know the 'best way' to 'box out' someone. I really don't.
I too like Cat Daddy, but I don't really need to know the proper terms and moves to watch a 'Catfight'....
Isn't it good enough that I ah...er...just like to watch?

RE: Is it just me?

Go along with wiseguy, Dat Caddy is a fanatic regarding catfighting, I thought I was into it (looking at my tape collection, guess I am into it) but it's like he lives and breaths for it. I don't claim to have much of a life, but I can spend some time with a good book or argument on another board without wondering if a catfight is going to break out.

That said, would love to meet CD, may yet get to the Big Easy this year (30-70 agin' it), if so I'll look him up and post a report.

Do that, Hutch!

Try to have a summit with Cat Daddy. And, if you can, sneak a camera into his "catfight lair"!
