Posted By: wiseguyly69 Posted On: Apr 28, 2004 Views: 302 | Here is a place that you can honor Pat Tillman take some time and pay tribute to someone who gave so others don't have to. I don't necessarily think Pat is somehow better than anyone else, but I must say he is committed and brave and will always be remembered. It just kills me to think of how the media is going to overuse this story. I will fully admit, I would rather choose foozze ball and chicks over camping out in horrible conditions waiting for some new holes in my body but I would never call this guy stupid. He knew what he wanted to do, and did it. How many can say that? Wiseguy |

Your title kind of indicates it. I do agree with some of your thoughts. Pat Tillman's selflessness is simply one example of bravery and sacrifice. Of course there are many others. However, the reason it strikes a chord with so many is because he gave up so much of what people think is the only things that can make you truly happy - money and fame. I'm sure the media will run with it, but I mind less them running with this story than drudging up things from 30 years ago about politicians. At least maybe someone might learn something from it. I say all this without intending to respond directly to any of the long threads below as I haven't kept up with them. Kent |
Posted By: legion Posted On: Apr 28, 2004 Views: 290 | RE: Here is a place that you can honor Pat Tillman I am not patriotic or nationalistic like the you Murkins. Other than Canada being a nice place to be born and live, I wouldn't give the korn out of my krap for my Kuntry. The whole concept of a 'country' with imaginary borders drawn in the sand, requiring 'leaders' and protection is a silly tribal abstraction from days of yore. We are Canadian. We don't care. Of course he was stupid. Just as anyone who joins the military for any reason other than a free education is a stupid moron with a brainwashed head full of patriotic delusions. 'Dumb Jock Dies for Pipeline in Afghanistan' pretty much sums it up." "Gonna go kill me some Eye-Rackys to git some payback for 911, yep shore nuff." (no doubt one of these dopes who thinks Iraq had something to do with 911) Yep, big hero. A regular Audie Murphy. |

Thing is, the site was set up with a $5000 kicker by some slut politicians wife: Mrs. Lurch Kerry. "Well, I'll be damned says el stupido..." yessir, you most likely will be. What a perfectly rotten human scum you are, jackass. God would I love to meet you. Let me partake of your vulgar crap in person, pencil dick. atf |

I think that quote came from IndyMedia, extreme lefty site, but I can't recall. Whether quotes come from 'right or left' ideology makes no difference to me....although it seems to matter a great deal to registered Republi****z. The truth is the truth no matter the source. |

Posted By: legion Posted On: Apr 30, 2004 Views: 237 | RE: Here is a place that you can honor Pat Tillman No imbecile, hench the "quotations" But I don't recall the source. Pretty sure it was from something I read on Indymedia. If Missus Lurch finances the thing, that's fine with me. No big deal. It's a lefty site, I would expect it to be financed by rich lefties, just as the sites espousing your neocon warpig points of view would be financed by rich Republicans and other ruling class pimps with a vested interest in selling out your country. Open your eyes, dummy. "It is the underpants that have been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth" - Morpheus (note the quotation marks - clearly this quote is not taken directly from 'the Matrix' as it is a laconic paraphrase. Who wrote the quote? I do not know. But I'm pretty sure it wasn't someone called 'Morpheus'. ) |
