Back to the Land of Munchkin Misfits in Kerryville ??? I admit I didn't have time to see or hear the whole damn Big Show with Clarke, Rice, and the rest, but Bremer's and Clarke's points were not taken lightly and dismissed. After all, true, Clarke WAS one of the key point men staying on top of terrorism and advising Shrub in the ShrubCo Administration well before 9-11. No, he didn't talk to simply boost his book sales (although many will say that's why he did, and there's no doubt it WAS meant to have that effect since his book was coming out at the same time his testimony was being given), but, when he spoke, everything apparently came out in the wash, and Shrub took a helluva lot of heat. Bremer knew what the shortcomings of Shrub were, too, but apparently that DIDN'T stop him from accepting Shrub's request of heading up the 'Murkinville No. 1 job of gettin' Iraqi civil administration goin' again (even though he took over that position as a replacement for someone else). If ya' wanna blame Shrub for not paying ENOUGH attention and being asleep at the switch, as 007 would say, "Point taken."; but, once the damage is done, there's nothing else to do except go forward. So forward we go, come hell or high water from the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, to June 30, 2004. The Iraqi's have their initial "Constitution", so it's time for us 'Murkins to get on the broomstick or flying carpet and get the hell outta there. It can't happen soon enough. |
