Et tu, GG? or Politics Shmolitics

I'm saddened by your words below, GG (JJ). I've viewed your artwork, I've listened to your musical compositions, and I've struggled to comprehend your often cryptic posts. And then, from nowhere, you lambast me by calling me "stupid" and then comparing my youthful admiration of Reagan to admiring a genocidal dictator.

What can I say? :-) I still can't help liking you for some reason.

Truthfully, I don't to argue about politics. In fact, I don't like politics much at all. I find that my life has been most effected over its course by my attitudes and my actions and far less by the actions and policies of others. But I know that others feel differently and immerse themselves in politics and I applaud them for it.

I think that the age we live in gives us all unprecendented access to information, and though access is good, the information often isn't. However, I think that overall we have improved over the past "dark ages" when no one could ever hope to find out the real story about a person or a Presidency. If the same access to information was present during the past of any country and any leader, we might all have our collective hairs curled by what we would know.

I do also think that in the past 200 years many positive things have been achieved and I think much of that is due to the emergence of America and ideas of personal freedom. 200 years ago, Michael Moore would never have had the freedom to express the views he does now, and certainly not make public living doing it.

In short, I think that the nature of power is to corrupt or at least to cause people to compromise principles for what they see as the best final outcome. Attrocities have always happened and always will. Good people will struggle against wrong as they see it and it is in that struggle between ideals, not in which side wins a single victory, that the the best of humanity lies.

Now where did I put that Modelfight video?...

RE: Et tu, GG? or Politics Shmolitics

Freedom is not a right awarded to us peasants from the powerful. We take it. They try to take it back. Very simple.

Government is the antithesis of freedom. Governments only restrict freedoms and take them away, never ever create them.

The "good" things are all as a result of improvements in technology and science - agriculture, mass production, crop rotation - never from government.

All they do is make war and fark things up. Always the leaders, never the people. The people never want war.

You have everything backwards.

Obviously freedom doesn't come from government. That's one of the points of my post (ref to America's birth [rebellion against govt] being one). I completely agree with you in that regard.

hey Kent:
GG calling you "stupid" is kinda like Jabs calling you "weird".
I'm sure the boy will answer these missives once he's come down from his latest acid trip, but you never know...

RE: Et tu, GG? or Politics Shmolitics

Thats it GG/JJ you and me after school!!! How dare you talk about Kent like that!!!

Put it this way ... we in America lived life just fine while Reagan was in office. Maybe other countries didn't and for them we helped as much as we could. Rarly if ever bringing conflict to the table unless provoked.

The Reagan administration/USA offered more money back in the day to countries who needed it than we do today. Well, aside from Iraq right now. 8 years of sheer joy!!!

Ron was a good man and his only flaw was he couldn't make everyone happy. But, look at the ones he ****ed off SO WHO REALLY GIVES A SQUAT!

Roughy I know you'll be reading this and I didn't know Reagan didn't help your state out? I'm sure your not the only one though. Infact, like I said my old man lost his job of 20 years because of Reagan, but it was for a reason. We got over it and moved on.
I'm sure your state has by now.

The world changed a lot since the Reagan days. Back then you could buy two houses. Today thankfully to Clinton's 8 years of nothingness you can maybe rent one.

RE: Reagan was a scumbag

Bonzo the chimp had more humanitarian instinct than the old fakir Ronnie, and he was a better actor too. Bonzos' hairline started at about the same place so I can see how all the Republi**** supporters might get the two mixed up.

Q - What's the difference between Reagan and Bonzo?

One is a primitive, territorial, anti-species mass murderer and the other is an ape.
