Before you see Farenheit 9/11

Hey, I'm all for you geeks dropping in to see something other than a XXX Jenna Jamison flick, so when you see the 'movie' just remember a couple of items. One, a-membur that it was the grand dame of the on-topic uni-a-trois who so many of you jerks think is 'in your corner' cuz she once surmized that, bygawd, the CIA and FBI were in on the game of 9/11. We all gave her a large berth because she said...ah...she hinted at...ah, she mighta KNOWN some of the humanoids who leaped to their deaths or somehow became baked on 9/11. Poor pitiful woman. Now, we have our illustrious Field Marshal and his henchman the Canadian Hunchback with the metal foot all in knots cuz Hoffa erased their support for Mikey Moore. DAMN HER!
Hey, I'm with ya; killer, man the pitchforks. No one...I MEAN NO ONE...gets out without seeing the pink of their eyes and the brown from their bull-sh*t. Hey, I want you gerbals to see F9/11. I want you to exclaim for all the world to see just what a wonnerful, wonnerful humaniterian MM is.
Ah, but there is this problem. See, I tried to point it out to you lunks, but...no takers. See, theres a tremendous amount of unabated friggin lying about our man in Mos...er, Flint...Mr.Moore.
Do yourself a favor and rush over to Chrisopher Hitchens' recent column. You can link to it from the Drudge Report. At any rate, Hitchens destroys Moore so badly I almost feel sorry for this jackoff Irish American pig. Chris asks him (as I've asked fluffy) just how in the hell you can be on three sides of every issue? At least Lurch Kerry is usually on only two. See...Moore said the USA wasn' prepared, then was intruding on persoanl rights, then wasn't up to winning the Afghan or Iraqi War, then the USA was too good a "destroying the enemy". And so it goes...

Anyway, here's food for thought brought to you by Christopher Hitchens, touching on the area of Moore's core 'beliefs', i.e., pacifism and his reliance on projecting 'Orwellian' thought into his new-found hatred for Bush along with his old-time hatred for anything 'western.'

"(Moore's) affected and ostentatious concern for black America is one of the most suspect ingredients of his pitch package. In a recent interview, he yelled that if the hijacked civilians of 9/11 had been black, they would have fought back, unlike the stupid and presumably cowardly white men and women (and children). Never mind for now how many black passengers were on those planes -- we happen to know what Moore does not care to mention: that Todd Bremer and a few of his co-passengers, shouting 'lets roll,' rammed the hijackers with a trolley, fought them tooth and nail, and helped bring down a United Airlines plane, in Pennsylvania, that was speeding either toward the White House or the Capitol. There are no words for impromptu bravery like that, which helped save our republic from worse than actually befell it. (Yet) Moore is a silly and shady man who does not recognize courage of any sort even when he sees it because he cannot summit it in himself. To him, easy applause, in front of credulous audiences, is everything.
"Moore has pompously established a rapid response team, and a fact-checking staff, and some tough lawyers, to bulwark himself against attack. He'll sue if anyone insults him or his pet.
"By all means go and see this terrible film, and take your friends, and if the fools in the audience strike one cry, in favor of surrender or defeat, feel free to join in the conversation.
"As far as lawyers -- get a life, or maybe sue me in court. But I offer this to Moore and to his rapid response rabble. Any time, Michael my boy. Let's redo Telluride. Any show. Any place. Any platform. Let's see what you're made of.
"At no point does Michael Moore make the smallest effort to be objective. At no moment does he pass up the chance for a cheap sneer or a jeer.
"(a sonorous reading) of some words from George Orwell (from 1984) consist of a third-person analysis of a hypothetical, endless, and contrived war between three superpowers. The clear (clumsy) intention is to suggest that there is no moral distinction between the United States, the Taliban, and the Baath Party and that the war against jihad is about nothing.
"If Moore had studied Orwell at all, he could have read Orwell really saying, and in his own voice, the following:
'The majority of pacifists either belong to obscure religious sects or are simply humanitarians who object to taking life and prefer not to follow their thoughts beyond that point. But there is a minority of intellectual pacifists, whose real though unacknowledged motive appears to be hatred of western democracy and admiration for totalitarianism. Pacifist propaganda usually boils down to saying that one side is as bad as the other, but if one looks closely at the writing of the younger international pacifists, one finds that they do not by any means express impartial disapproval but are directed almost entirely against Britain and the United States.' George Orwell, 'Notes on Nationalism' May, 1945

"A very short word of advice: In general, it's highly unwise to quote Orwell if you are already way out of your depth on the question of moral equivalance It's also incautious to remind people of Orwell if you are engaged in a sophomoric celluloid rewriting of recent history.
"If Michael Moore had had his way, Slobodan Milosevic would still be the big man in a starved and tyrannical Serbia. Bosnia and Kosovo would have been cleansed and annexed. If Michael More had been listened to, Afghanistan would still be under Taliban rule and Kuwait would have remained as part of Iraq. And Iraq itself would still be the personal property of a psychopathic crime family, bargaining covertly with the slave state of North Korea for WMD. You might hope that a retrospective awareness of this kind would induce a little modesty. To the contrary, it is employed to pump air into one of the great sagging blimps of our sorry, mediocre, celeb-driven culture. Rock the vote, indeed."

RE: Before you see Farenheit 9/11

No one fought back because they didn't think they were going to die - just get hijacked. I suspect if you tried it now the entire passenger compartment would pounce all over you.

Moore is doing exactly what he's supposed to do in a hypothetically 'free' society - criticizing. He does it very well. I haven't seen anybody weave together so much conspiracy theory all in one feature since Oliver Stones' JFK.

RE: Before you see Farenheit 9/11

I'll grant you that on the conspiracy theory. Geez, no one thought Ollie by Golly could be outdone, but there you are.

My principle point is to back up what Hitchens says. Quick, how often (prior to 2001) would you have said Hitchens, a leftist/intellectual/athiest, have found himself on the 'other side of' Moore? True, there were clues. But...this?! Hehe, a new paradigm for sure!

Yes, I am mainly writing about the consistency of inconsistency by Moore and others when they change course in mid-stream. The 'masses' haven't a clue and stand there scratching their collective heads (not really, BC...oh, nevermind...). To say that WE are playing Rambo, whilst -- in a Bill Maher mode -- THEY are so...brave? To say that we should scale back the army and such whilst advocating a military draft AND AT THE SAME TIME saying the gummint is way too intrusive.

I hope that you, as a grown up, L-man, understand that I say NUTS to the rightists who stand in front of the theaters (if any should). Curses to those who censor and cringe at looking into various opinions, no matter the forum.

Why even 'you know who' can grasp this concept!
Er, shoulda quit while I was ahead.

RE: Hitchens

I can't stand that obnoxious Brit blowhard, can't wait till he chain-smokes himself into the dead gasbag he was in life. He did say some funny, insulting stuff about Reagan, so I know the guy is not all bad. He's just such a characature of a human being cause he thinks he's being original but comes across as a phoney imitating how he thinks a writer is supposed to act. Hunter Thompson is an original, Hitchens is just a clown playing a role. He reminds me of Dudley Moore playing that drunk arsehole, in fact I think that's where he stole the character. I bet he doesn't even smoke except on TV.

I CAN'T GO!

I cannot go to the movies! Because of my "petite size" I am unable to see a goddamned thing (plus my feet stick to the floor something awful). My last movie in the theaters was the Disney classic Pete's Dragon. This Fairinheight 911 should be an action packed movie full of explosions and other such wonderment. Someone told me that George Bush fights Doctor Octopus! WOW

Does anyone know why Mike Moore decided to cut the "jungle love" interracial sex scene between George Bush and Condie Rice? Maybe it was the censors or something. I heard the scene was pretty damn HOT and, let's just say, Ms. Rice was "satisfied".

RE: F that I'm going to see Garfield

Hey Zippy ... you can go with Roughy. He'll just hoist ya up on his shoulders and you can watch from there.
If theres anyone yelling that they can't see don't worry it would only be Leege (he's out to see the premire as well)
He wouldn't bother saying or doing anything to you. He's Canadian.

F that pile of trash Moore is calling his own. He won't get my money. But, Bush will still get my vote.
I can't believe hes using certain images for his horror flick. I seriously hope someone catches him on the streets sometime and does him justice. F-ing little worm.

Like any other film that the movie "Groupies" go to they more than likely dress up for it. But how would you do so at a Micheal Moore film?
Well for this one you could hold pictures of the buildings that were on fire ... put on nerdy glasses and a gay little hat like Moore does. Kinda like a fat Harry Potter!
And to top it off shove a pack of hotdogs down your throat and pretend its cocks.

I recall a few posts back I was going to see
"the day after tomorrow" which I didn't end up doing. But, Rough in one of his posts said " I can't believe JSK would want to see a film with so much disaster in it at a time like this." or somethin like that.
Well all I can say is atleast it wasn't real or used American tragity in a one sided perspective for a guy whos work isn't worth the hype.
I can't believe you guys would see this.

Enjoy the film-

JSK

ps-Leege must like guys name Chris

RE: Before you see Farenheit 9/11

My general policy is to NOT PAY for any software until I've used it. No free trial, no money. Simple as that.

Given the abundance of TOTAL KRAPOLA software hitting the market these days I feel totally justified in that stance. It's all vapourware junk that tries to do too much rather than a few things really well, such as...

ULead! I've got version 6 installed on XP, it runs fine, is pretty stable, but it has a shiatty interface and the video compressions are poor quality - Windoze Movie Maker is better, but not the "new and improved" MovieMaker 2 for XP. It sux. Once again, a case of trying to make the software do too much.

RE: Before you see Farafawset 9/11

Hey Leege -
My Ulead is version 4.0
I'm sure they are up to version 14 by now.
I totally agree with your idea of "free" software for the world. Ofcourse these companies make a killing from companies and schools who buy from them. So why the hell not just help out the Joe Smoe who's trying to have some fun!?!? Like us !!!

I like the Ulead because it would take stills from any video clip I ran on it. With Windows I think you can only do that if your recording from a camera or vcr onto it. If not I'm totally clueless on that aspect of it.

I'm glad I never junked the windows recorder and maybe will tinker around more with it. I did find making quality clips was easier using that. And more importantly smaller in file size.

Still I rarly have time or reason to make a five minute clip crystal clear and smaller than 2 mb's. But, if I do I'll be sure to give you a hollar.

Stay sane-

JSK

RE: Before you see Farenheit 9/11

Killah, a true film about war is going to be a "horror flick". Perhaps people who supported this unecessary war should see this film to get a small inkling of what war's really all about. Remember, this war was TOTALLY OPTIONAL. But also remember...I still loves ya! :)~

RE: Before you see Farenheit 9/11

You guys on the New Left crack me up. You wanna see the USA dive? Hey, we're doing it to ourselves!
As the great Scottish economist Alexander Tyler wrote 200 years ago, "No democracy can last eternally. It will, like the Athenian Empire, eventually see that it can 'vote' itself (then spend itself) the internal funds that will eventuate into it's own demise."
What the boy was saying & we're seeing, of course, is that the USA has enough corporate welfare, enough ex-pols, bureaucrats and high-living welfare types with suits AND those who have the power and corruptive nature (Foundations, unions, corporate assosciations, political arm-twisting lobbyists, etc.) to tax the living sh*t outta the sheeple until the D-Day when they discover they can't pay any more, in which case a nation state will have two options: 1. Close the 'loopholes' and tax EVEYONE (fact: the bottom HALF of our country pays 4% now) -- please! hehe or 2. Do it the South American way and ask the International bankers to bail us out (!) please....
The corporate/group-think approach cometh and I don't think there's anyone out 'there' who'll be willing to help out. Hell, I wouldn't.

RE: I'm going to egg the screen

Yeah just because Moore-on is making a film about it doesn't mean I have to go. Is it really going to change my views? Should it change my views?
Doesn't matter if your for or against anything. Infact, its his self ritious film mainly going after Bush. After his stunt at the oscars that year where he looked like a rabid dog proclaiming "your days are numbered!" I want nothing to do with the jerk off. Back then you can recall pleanty of idiots jumping on the anti war wagon simply because of Nam and because marching and protesting gives stayhome Mom's something to do.
Well congrats if this is your solution to peace or anti war. If I'm against something I'd let cha know. Will it turn some? Maybe.
But, in reality its just a film and nothing more. I hear forigners love it! The same forign lands that wouldn't allow other types of movies to play, yet will allow this one because it trys to make us look bad.

Nice post Fonz. Maybe in a few years they can finally make the movies called-

Flight to New York (A love story with Leo Decaprio)

The Pentigon 9/11(Starring Vin Disal)

9/11 & ahalf weeks(Kim Bassinger)

Still I won't go. If its on cable and there isn't a show with hotties in it maybe I'll consider. But, we have two living in this house who don't like Moore. Sure for political reasons I don't like Moore. My wife just can't stand him because she hasn't liked any of his films yet. So there ya go we're not going:)
Besides could you imagine me going to a film like that and trying to keep quiet?

No offense Rough and by all means practice your freedom here by seeing it. For being such an evil man in power taking control of everything I see GW really put a stop to this film. Funny to know Mike lied to get money for his picture and used various companies to do so. Then complained when they wouldn't release it. If he was so fixed on getting it out in the states he should have put his money where his mouth was and paid for it himself. After all he's made a fortune off of others MISfortunes.

I will admit I saw a commercial for the flick and laughed . It went like this-

GW was playing golf walking to the t.
He's talking about terrorism and as he's ready to t off he says something like " We'll rid the world of terrorists and other evil doers ..... NOW WATCH THIS SWING"

And then I hear the soundtrack is by TEN YEARS AFTER! "I'd love to change the world"

I suppose somehow Micheal will make it as if he was actually golfing during 9/11 and not at school helping little kids out.

RE: Before you see Farenheit 9/11

Ofcourse Moore will do everything in his power to make the whole 9/11 thing and war our fault. Look at the lies he told in his last film. Because something seems wrong like guns for example people felt good about seeing the movie. Im sure lots will go to this film and see a different pack of lies.
People forget its one mans vision and a twisted one at that. He claims GW is best freinds with the Saudi's and actually makes the middle east look like the bad guys but still sides with them only to demeaner Bush.
Well its good to know our president is friends with other countrymen besides his own. Isnt that what a leader wants to acheive in the first place?
