1000 Dead can’t be all wrong!

As reported in the liberal media the other day, we have finally reached the coveted 1000 dead Americans in Iraq. Of course, we were foolish to think that we could go in and occupy Iraq without suffering such losses from all the happy children tossing flowers at the feet of our soldiers. Liberation is always a treacherous proposition as long as there are gardens. As the old adage goes, “War is Hell, but flowers are worse!”

By the way, only two more days until the third anniversary of 9-11. It’s the holiest day of the neo con calendar so get your gift shopping done early.

New chant at Dubya rallies: “Four thousand more dead! Four thousand more dead!”

RE: 1000 Dead can’t be all wrong!

Yeah, those must be some deadly flowers they're throwing at us.

Like Dubya said...[sic] "It's hard being occupied. I'd HATE to be occupied, myself!"

Yet another memorable quote. The man's brilliant, I tell you! Let's wait and see if America is brilliant enough to give this clown four more years. It's looking that way at the moment.

RE: 1000 Dead can’t be all wrong!

More war in '04.

That's my official prediction. But not from the British - it looks like they are going to kick Blair out in disgrace for following that retarded hillbilly into Iraq.

Don't forget about the 10 to 20 thousand Iraqis who lost their lives in this Imperial misadventure.

Oh, we don't count them.

Why not? Where was the "terrorist threat" from Iraq? If there was none, then all those dead were innocent, including the ones the government considers incidental to the process of war. (collateral)

Good to know you can count

GW said there would be a possible great number of deaths during and even after the war. We knew what we were getting into. Actually the people didn't but the government did (somewhat)
Could be worse and believe it when I say Iraq wasn't always a holiday vacation gettaway like the media trys to portray it.

Just flip on the news and you'll see terrorism is too real and widespread. Its about time countries did something about it and invaded the place. I'm glad we did and when its over hopefully you will be too.
Do nothing and sit around and some day it'll happen to your land. Wake up and do something and stop it from happening in the future. It won't go away by itself or by the meaningless words that have been said for how many years now?

I still think bombing the whole place would have been a better idea.

We need someone to paly on their team.

Right! This is not working now, there's a DIHQ temporal inbalance in the discourse that has been caused by Fonzie's lack of presence. We have too much of a liberal bias here now and JSK is right up there in the air on the seesaw now that Sgt. Fonz's weight has gone. We need another conservative to balance things up. If we don't get one soon, well, I'll have to go over to JSK's team and play as their devil's advocate right wing centre forward to even things up again. Unless we get the fat kid to play for JSK's team, chubs is always the last to be picked.

Note to Legion: go see 'Super Size Me' it got a rather good review and seeing that you are a fat American masquerading as a forest loon anarchic Canadian you may find it interesting:

RE: 1000 Dead can’t be all wrong!

*All we're doing in Iraq is creating the PERFECT breeding ground for terrorism, ensuring that this crusade will continue well into the new century.* Ah, yes...BOMB THE WHOLE COUNTRY! KILL 'EM ALL!! Now, why didn't we take advice like that from the right wingnuts and just nuke the whole blasted country to begin with. Hell, why not the WHOLE Middle East just to be on the safe side? Dio, you may have to play on their team some. They need all the help they can get! By the way, if and when George Dubya wins in Novemebr, can I cross the pond and live with you and Auntie Mavis a bit? Quite possibly for the next four years?
I don't eat much and I have more than a few really swell catfight tapes and DVDs. They're peachy keen even!

I'm afraid our campaign is still in a shambles, ole boy. We've been cursed ever since our campaign manager Zip ran off with Vira, stealing all of our nifty "DIO/ROUGH 2004" banners, balloons, bumper stickers, ball caps, sex toys and tee shirts in the process! I bet those two are making a killing on Ebay. Damn swindlers! I've heard that the diabolical dwarf and the little catfight hottie are playing both sides of the political field themselves. To ardent fans and supporters, they're selling our campaign memorbilia to the highest bidder...and for those on the far right, they have gone and altered the merchandise by crossing out the "O" in Dio and replacing it with an "E"! That's right, it now reads, "DIE ROUGH 2004"! Those bastards...double dipping their beaks and all that! That mindnumbingly gorgeous Fighting Feline Shandy is in our camp and I've tried to raise funds by arranging a catfight between she and right wing wicked witch Ann Coulter. Shandy is quite anxious to "kick her ass" but no response from the Coulter camp. She's YELLOW, I tell you!

Clean linen and a 6am rising

Yes, the spare bedroom is being cleared as we speak for DIHQ civilians if America continues under the rule of Dopey the Clown.

RE: temporal imbalance

Okay, I'll play the conservative.

You sissy liberal hippy commies are always trying to beat out the French to be the first one to raise the surrender flag. If the weenie Brit knobends hadn't appeased Hitler for so long he would've never had time to build up that massive army. Sometimes you just gotta go primal on their arses and bash them over the head with the femur of a large animal for control of the community watering hole. Sometimes the only thing people understand is swift and blinding violence. Do any of you bong smoking pacifists really believe someone like Hitler could have been appeased and reasoned with? Seriously? Get your brains back to reality you goofy utopian wet dreamers. Do you know what Hitler would have done to Ghandi? I can see it now, there is the little holy guy staging a sit-in while the 2nd Panzer division rolls right over them. Stupid hippies. You can't handle the truth. Shuddup your faces and let the conservative realists protect your pot smoking rear end.

Uhhh, No Killah, not the end. Far from it, I'm afraid. We're in this for the long haul and will probably loose many more before it's over with.

CLEAN LINENS! Hot damn, I'm there! I'd love to sleep in til 7 if at all possible though.

1000 dead Americans...20-30,000 dead Iraqis

As the death and carnage grows increasingly worse in Iraq, the parallels between the war there and the Vietnam War are interesting.

What's so striking is that I think this small group of neo cons who have pretty much hijacked the US government really do believe that you can spread democracy through military might...that you can "impose" democracy on people who have never had a history of this form of government. They really thought that democracy would flourish in Iraq and spread throughout the entire Middle East. The Johnson Administration and the top military brass had a similar mentality in the late 60s, insofar as Asia went. A similar way of thinking but actually the inverse of what we are seeing now. They were trying to prevent the spread of Communism through military force. What we're attempting to do now is the socio/political "domino effect" but in reverse. And now, like then, it seems as though history would have taught us a lesson. Namely, that you can never successfully impose a form of government on anyone. It simply doesn't work. Military might is too rigid and firm...not forgiving in that sense. And you are dealing with a plethora of details that the military can never successfully handle. It's just too damn messy, plain and simple. Diplomacy is still the only way that you're ever going to have a prayer of gradually bringing about true change that benefits the people involved and also bringing about truly peaceful relations between the international players involved.

Yeah, you would have thought Vietnam would have taught us all a valuable lesson. But sometimes I guess you have to learn the hard way and it takes several lessons.
