Flyover Country

It appears that several Hollywood types and NY newspaper types keep asking the same question:
"how could Bush have won? No one I know voted for him."
Know what? I believe them. Colleges and universities and many meeting places of the mind, be they think tanks or business groups or chambers of commerce, all of these organisations should have and could have been used to explore how we expand the benefits of our civilisation to those who are in great need. Believe me, Mexicans dont need to watch Fahrenheit 9 11, Africans need not be fed the insipid and banal tripe of NBC News with Tommy Brokaw and Cubans know intuitively that Castro is, to a great degree, a nutter, and the vast expanse of the Asian world probably knows that alQaeda is headed THEIR way after furking with the west.
In a word, yesterdays results and all of the soul searching will prove to be one thing: That you guys on the far left; you who hate commerce and enterprise; you who laugh at the `stupidity` of people of faith; you who hate the veteran and the war....
Take a look in the mirror: You have met the enemy and he is you! You may have won a few battles but you will always lose the war, for most of the world, when properly fed and clothed, will see capitalism and freedom as a much better alternative than the statism and nanny like caretaker gummints of Red China, Canada, France or Belgium.
It is truly hard to be humble when you are great...
belee dat.

RE: Flyover Country

You know guys, I was gonna mention Hoffa but naw...last time I did no one cared, prior to this I was called a coward cuz I never post there and so forth.
Anyway, it is hard to believe that opinions on a message board are so `dangerous` as to need erasure.
Yeah, I know: One guy wants to know if his readings of some myopic tripe is `erotic`, another guy wants to know if Tweety is in Vegas and still another wants Cat Diddly to post his take on the latest er...cat fight.
Geez, I`d help yaz but what have you done for me lately? hehehe

Flyover Country

Yeah, Babs is pretty quick with those wipes now! I wonder who Jabroni voted for. Ohh, how I miss that knucklehead!

Today, Bush said he had the "capital" to do what he wants to do and he plans to spend it. He also said he has a "mandate", like he won by a landslide or something. Scary language and I think Bush chooses to forget that half the country still thinks he's an ignorant, narrow minded cowboy. I suspect that the overzealous Republicans are going to try to push things too far to the right. He basically has a couple of years to make his mark on history by acting on the social agenda of those on the far right that helped get him elected. They are going to hold him to it, because the right feels if not now, when? He will stack the Supreme Court with conservative anti-choice conservative judges in an attempt to overrule Roe v. Wade, work a little harder towards getting the Anti Gay Marriage Amendment on its way and continue changing the tax structure so that it favors the wealthy even more. They are, after all "his constituency". He has no need to reach out to 49% of the country that didn't cast a vote for him. They didn't elect him. He will thumb his nose at them because he feels he has a mandate to execute the social changes the evangelicals have wanted for quite some time. Basically turn back the clock. The air we breathe and water we drink will not rise in quality. Stem cell research will not progress on Bush's watch.

I think there will be a huge backlash at some point as more and more people realize who these dangerously ignorant and bigoted neo con evangelical backers of Bush's are. In short, these Republicans will hang themselves by trying to push an agenda that's too conservative. They are going to clamour for too much power and influence too quickly. It's all happened before as we in the US do have somewhat of a "self correcting" government, for lack of a better term. Bush won't change one bit. He's encapable of any degree of flexibilty or thinking outside the box. Within two years I suspect Bush's continuing incompetence and divisiveness will get more progressive Dems in there by next election time. Just my thought. We'll see how it pans out.

And...I'll end with a little humor.

What's the difference between Vietnam and Iraq?

Bush had a plan for getting out of Vietnam!

RE: Flyover a Country and bomb it

Oh damn ... I guess I just missed the posts over at Barb's. Figures it was you unruly bastards causing havok in Barb's classroom!
No recess for you!

We should just go over there and stage flaming wars on each other(LOL)
About really dumb things like who sells a better video or wears the hottest wrasslin wear. Always tossing in political satire at the ending of our posts:)~

Fonz great post as usual. The fact remains GW won. And, he won by the largest votes casted in US history dispite all the media outlashing and onesided views.
**** hollywood and all their lame BS. I'm friggin glad I rent more B movies than their gargbage. A bunch of babies they all are.
People like Roughy come here and although bummed out he took his pick's loss like a man and is a good sport. Hollywood thinks everyone should bow down and kiss their behinds. Your all a bunch of actors in your own little worlds ... F U! Worry more about the abuse of baby seals and quit trying to brainwash your movie go-ers minds! I'm sure Micheal Moore is wondering how he lost in some way too (LOL)
Time to make a sequel you dumb fat prick!

I just thought of something about a hollywood leading man. Mel Gibson. This total weirdo thinks Arnold Swagaldsjljsdfou-za****(the govenor of Cali) should get right back to him because he doesn't agree with his stand on stem cell issues.
Mel showed up on some tv show all bug eyed complaining that he's called the gov and yet Arnold hasn't returned his call!?!?!
I turned on the tube seeing Mel looking all PC-ed out saying "Arnold return my call!"
like he looked in lethal weapon. Actually, he looked more like a guy wanting to fight with someone or challenging them.
The gov said he did and left him a message and was very busy that week.
Now my question .... its obvious Mel doesn't believe in stemcell research. Ok, fine lots feel the same way and most of them are the same who would let their kid die rather than go see a doctor. Kind of like old school religious beliefs. But, just because old Mel is a hollyweird movie star what gives him the right to expect Arnold to get RIGHT BACK TO ME/him when he called. Just because he doesn't agree on his views?
Mel your a friggin actor that still acts. Arnold is an actor turned govenor with better things to do than have to deal with you whos not even an American citizen. He isn't is he?

Sorry to sort of jump semi off topic, but you brought up hollyweird and Mel is one of them.
I can't wait for Mad Max Return from thunderdumb.

RE: Flyover Country

Yeah, Gibson's a little on the nutty side.

And I have to point something out Killah (because I'd kick myself if I didn't). Yes, Bush got the most cast votes of any candidate ever. But guess who got the second largest ever? That's right, John Kerry!

JSK,

You watch WAY too much TV.

I can tell. Your 'thinking' is that of a child.

Ease off the boob tube.

RE: Shut up YOU

Actually Fluffy the only television I watched lately was the Red Sox kicking ass and winning the world series.
Aside from that ofcourse I watched the election coverage, but I doubt as much as you did.
And it happened that the Mel Gibson sighting was around that time. Especially seeing Arnold is a stemcell supporter they had a story on him.
Other than that I rented Van Helslin (I can't pronounce let alone spell the movie.)
And I watched that on my tv.

Been jamming out with a band and making chick fighting video games. No time for much of the "boob tube" (as I like to call it)
Oh and gearing up for the little one.
No tv only the pc.

What a crappy come back Leege,

No, Barb is definately a fascist. I hear she parades around in full nazi regallia, complete with a swastika armband, a Col Klink monacle, black leather jackboots and g-string, willing to physically and sexually dominate any man or woman willing to oil up and get on the mat with her.

Or so I'm told.
